April is Stress Awareness Month—and while we often think about adult stress, our kids are feeling it too. 💭
From schedules that are too busy and intense school pressure to constant stimulation from screens, stress in children can show up in ways we don’t always expect:
• Trouble sleeping
• Mood swings or irritability
• Difficulty focusing
• Complaints of headaches or stomach aches
The truth is—kids don’t always have the words to say “I’m overwhelmed,” but their behavior will tell you.
✨ Simple ways to help minimize stress at home:
• Create consistent routines (kids thrive on predictability)
• Limit screen time, especially before bed
• Prioritize outdoor play and movement
• Encourage open conversations—ask about their day and really listen
• Model calm behavior (they learn how to cope by watching you)
• Make time for rest—not every moment needs to be scheduled
Even small changes can make a big difference in helping your child feel safe, supported, and balanced.
💙 Let’s use this month as a reminder to check in—not just on ourselves, but on the little ones who depend on us most.
