Thank you Bodies Race Company for putting on a great race. You made my our Overcomers Running Froup First Step Recovery Centers of Central Ohio First Step Recovery Center group feel welcomed, invited, celebrated, and most of all — you made them feel like they belonged.
In the world many of them come from, they often battle the struggles of addiction, PTSD from incarceration, and the judgment that society places on them.
But none of that mattered when we stepped onto that starting line.
You may not have realized it, but when you handed us that trophy and brought them up in front of everyone, something powerful happened.
For that moment, they weren’t addicts.
They weren’t defined by their past.
They were human again.
And that meant more than you probably know.

Good Afternoon Everybody :) Hate is as contagious as the flu. If I hang around people that say nothing but negative things about other people, it'll wear off on me eventually. I have seen it in action. Like a pack of wolves, one person will attack and everyone around them will take little bites. Leave those miserable people behind. It might have been fun when I was hating for a living, but not today. If I want to see a real man in action, I watch someone build another person up, they're not afraid that one day they'll be better then them... That's their goal, that is exactly what they are trying to do. Hate has no boundaries, no race, no religion, no gender that makes one person more vulnerable then another. Hate is taught. Unlike love, we have to learn how to hate people. Sometimes we search for reasons, and other times we just go with what others say and do. I think that is when I was the biggest of cowards, when I could not stand alone and call him/her my friend. Big, fat, skinny, small, tall, short, smart, etc. Anything that made you different then me, scared me... So I hated you for it. It was the easy way out. Not today, I find a way to see everything as "God doesn't make mistakes". I am excited that you know more then me, it might rub off that way as well. They told me to surround myself with people that I want to be like, and to let go of those who will drowned you. Hate, is a miserable person's apartment. "Live, and Let Live". Love, is in a growing person's home. ;) Have a Blessed and Beautiful Day. I Love All of You. Be nice to each other and you know this part... Smile. :) P.S Thank You for teaching me ❤️

Good Sunday Morning Everybody :) Every couple of years I have to look back at the journey, just to see that what I am doing is working. I had a conversation with a friend yesterday about the gifts that sobriety has given me... These pictures are just some of the proof that what I am doing has changed my world for the better. Even after 13 years, 11 months, and 1 day... it just keeps getting better. There are some things that a picture can not tell but I keep all of those things in my heart. Hopes and Dreams are real... sometimes they just get misplaced.
