🌟 National Social Worker Month Spotlight 🌟
This month, we’re proud to recognize the incredible impact our social workers make every day. Today we’re shining the spotlight on Sarah Isaac’s, our Licensed Social Worker at New Albany Care Center! 💙
How long have you been working in a SNF setting, and what brought you to New Albany Care Center?
I began my journey with New Albany Care Center amid the Pandemic in January 2021 as a Masters Social Work Intern with The Ohio State University. After completing my internship with OSU and graduating with an MSW, I began working full-time as a Social Services Coordinator in January 2023.
What inspired you to be a social worker and what do you love most about working with our patients?
I have always enjoyed working with others and understanding their stories and motivations. When a patient comes to a facility likes ours, something difficult has happened in their life. Helping residents and families understand the journey from admission to discharge while offering encouragement and guidance is an honor. Every discharge I put together I consider a gift to a patient. Every discharge is as unique as the person and it’s such a thrill watching patients regain independence and move forward towards their goals. With our long-term care residents, it’s a privilege to witness the everyday with residents, whether it’s helping a patient choose which ancillary service they want or listening to a resident’s story from childhood.
What is a fun fact about you outside of work?
I absolutely love birds and have three adorable rescue parrots. My two Green Cheek Conures are named Truman and Eisenhower; my third parrot is an African Grey parrot named Zorro who likes to whistle classic rock tunes.🦜
Thank you, Sarah, for the compassion, dedication, and heart you bring to our residents and their families every day. We’re so grateful to have you as part of the New Albany Care Center team!
