North Central Mental Health Services, Inc. North Central Mental Health Services is a comprehensive, community mental health & recovery center.

Services Provided by North Central include:

Elder Focus - An array of mental health and recovery services focused on the needs of persons age 60 and over. Family Focus - Outpatient clinic based mental health and chemical dependence treatment services for children, adolescents, families and adults. Recovery Support - A broad range of services for persons working to achieve the highest level of recovery possible from the effects of severe and persistent mental illness. Recovery Assistance - Support for persons requiring coordination of their services and for others requiring minimal assistance in their recovery journey. Intensive Recovery - A range of more intense team based services offer to those whose recovery from mental illness and/or addiction is more strongly challenged. Transitional Teams - Team based services for young persons with serious difficulties that began in youth or adolescence and who will likely need significant support to achieve either transition to the adult system or a level of recovery sufficient enough to permit them to leave the treatment system. Community Teams - Team based recovery oriented services designed to assist adult consumers to achieve and maintain successful living in the community. Dual Disorders - Team based services for adults recovering from the effects of both severe/persistent mental illness and addiction. Residential Services - A variety of housing options for adults with severe/persistent mental illness, addiction or both. Suicide Prevention - North Central operates the largest 988 call center in the State of Ohio for persons who are suicidal or enduring an emotional crisis 24/7/365. Prevention and Education - Educating the community about mental health issues and working with other community organizations to enhance the quality of life in Franklin County. Psychiatry - Assessment, consultation and treatment by trained physicians and nurses.

Food insecurity is a pervasive issue facing our community. Hereโ€™s an up-to-date list of 17 library locations* serving free after-school snacks.

A typical โ€œsuper-snackโ€ features a fruit, vegetable, protein, grain, and milk. The meal program is generously provided by Children's Hunger Alliance.

*EDIT: The Marion-Franklin Branch has also begun serving After-School Snacks. Find always up-to-date times and locations in the comments.

With SNAP benefits disrupted, the City of Columbus is here to help! Weโ€™re providing food, toiletries, hygiene products and diapers to Franklin County SNAP recipients at four pop-up food and resource events at Columbus Recreation and Parks Department community centers. (Supplies are limited. First come first served.) Check the dates and locations to find one near you โ€“ and donโ€™t forget to bring your SNAP card!

This summer, the Ohio Su***de Prevention Foundation (OSPF) released new insights on how stigma continues to impact su***de prevention efforts. The findings show that when people hesitate to talk about mental health and su***de because of stigma, it can lead to harmful outcomes and prevent individuals from getting the help they need.

By breaking the stigma, we can create a culture where more people feel safe reaching out for support.
