Dr. Susan Vasko is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. With over twenty years of experience, she is dedicated to excellence and to bring you the best treatment possible. As the program director at Riverside Methodist Hospital
for the plastic surgery residency program, she is committed to teaching our next generation of plastic surgeons. As a leader in her field, Dr. Vasko pioneered two advanced studies: a study evaluating liposuction methods as well as research focused on infection prevention protocol utilizing tissue expanders during breast reconstruction. She presented the results of the liposuction study to her peers at the 2012 ASAPS meeting (the premier aesthetic meeting in the world) in Vancouver, as well as the 2012 Ohio Valley Society of Plastic Surgeons meeting. The results were presented at the 2014 ASAPS meeting in San Francisco. Dr. Vasko is an Upper Arlington resident, she is also a member of the Upper Arlington Women’s Club which provides scholarships to students. When she is not at work, she enjoys needlepoint, traveling, reading and spending time with her husband, Mark, and twin sons. Education & Experience
Dr. Susan Vasko is an Ohio native. She received her medical degree from the Ohio State University College of Medicine, completed four years of general surgery residency, and two additional years of plastic surgery residency at the Ohio State University Hospitals. Dr. Vasko has undergraduate & graduate degrees in engineering which she says has even helped in her work today. As a natural problem solver, she approaches each case with fresh eyes and an open mind. Her ability to use her critical thinking to find the best treatment for each individual patient is what sets her apart from the rest.
