Teachers and Families
“They’ll eat when they’re hungry enough.”
No. They won’t.

Sensory-related food challenges are not the same as being a picky eater. For some autistic kids, certain textures, smells, or tastes can trigger real distress. It’s not a matter of willpower it’s a matter of survival.

They need:
• Safe foods they trust
• Patience
• Support
• Sometimes, therapy

What they don’t need?
Judgment. Shame. Or being told they’re just being difficult.

Lead with empathy. Always.
