We are so grateful for all of the generous donations we receive year round for our Snack Cart 💙 Our volunteers push the snack cart around, blessing our patients and their visitors with snacks and drinks everyday! If you would like to make a donation towards the snack cart, call Columbus Hospice and ask to speak to Volunteer Services or drop the donations off at our office. ⭐️Staff Spotlight⭐️ Katie is the Human Resources Coordinator, and she will celebrate five years with us in June.

When asked why she chose to work for Columbus Hospice, she said, “Columbus Hospice was one of the very first places I applied when I decided I was ready to return to work after my second child was born, and I have never once regretted that decision.

No two days here are ever the same, and the fact that I wake up each morning not dreading work truly speaks volumes. It is such a blessing to be part of an organization where the people make all the difference. I know each of our employees by name, and although I do not interact directly with patients, it is incredibly rewarding to support such a dedicated and compassionate team. Knowing that our employees provide top-notch care every single day makes my role meaningful.

This organization is especially close to my heart because both of my grandparents received services here. Every single person involved in their care was exceptional, and experiencing that level of compassion firsthand only deepened my appreciation for what we do.

I genuinely love what I do and the people I work with. I hope to follow in the footsteps of some of my fellow coworkers and be here for 30+ years” We are so grateful Katie is apart of our team!!

⭐️Staff Spotlight⭐️ Ashley, LMSW has been a Medical Social Worker on our Home Team for four and a half years! When asked about her experience with Columbus Hospice, she said, “Choosing Columbus Hospice as a social worker was more than a career path for me, it was about answering a calling to walk with people during one of the most sacred and vulnerable seasons of life. There is something profoundly humbling about being invited into someone’s life story during their final chapter. Hospice allows me to meet patients and families where they are, offering compassion, dignity, and support when they need it most. It reminds me daily of the importance of presence, empathy, and honoring each individual’s journey. Hospice has taught me that even in life’s most difficult moments, there can still be peace, connection, and purpose.” We are so grateful for Ashley and her heart for caring for our patients!

This morning we had the honor of celebrating the heart of Columbus Hospice — our team. 🤍

At our Annual Service Award Breakfast, we recognized staff members who have faithfully served for 5, 10, 15, and even 30 years. We also recognized staff members that received gratitude gift recognition from families and patients. Their compassion, dedication, and unwavering commitment to our patients and families are what make our mission possible every single day.

We are deeply grateful for the lives they’ve touched and the difference they continue to make in our community. Congratulations to this year’s honorees! ✨

⭐️Staff Spotlight⭐️
Daniel has been a chaplain with Columbus Hospice for 10 years. When about his experience with Columbus Hospice he said, “I love working with Columbus Hospice because of our commitment to serve each individual patient according to their specific needs. As a chaplain that means that I provide spiritual support according to each individual’s stated concerns, background, and preferences. In my own life I know how it feels to be truly listened to and accepted with all my quirks. I’m grateful that Columbus Hospice has given me the opportunity to minister to others in that way.” We are so grateful to have Daniel as part of our team!!

Many people don’t realize that hospice isn’t about “giving up” — it’s about showing up with extra support. When hospice is brought in at the right time, patients and families gain comfort, guidance, and a full team focused on quality of life. From pain and symptom management to emotional and spiritual support, hospice walks alongside families every step of the way. Bringing hospice in earlier allows more time for meaningful moments, informed decisions, and peace of mind when it matters most.
