Saturday night was one to remember as CEO Bill Little joined Orthopaedic Surgeon Dr. Anie Uyoe and Cardiothoracic Surgeon Dr. Curtis Bryan to drop the puck and kick off the Columbus River Dragons game.

With more than 1,000 St. Francis-Emory Healthcare employees in attendance for Employee Appreciation Night, the arena was filled with energy, pride, and support for our community.

Congratulations to Dr. Curtis Bryan for completing his first open heart surgery at St. Francis Cardiovascular and Thoracic Institute yesterday morning. As a highly accomplished surgeon with years of expertise now bringing that skill to the Chattahoochee Valley, the procedure went smoothly with zero complications — and the patient is already recovering quickly and able to sit up in a chair.

With Dr. Bryan's talent on our team and another surgery scheduled for today, we're expanding access to exceptional cardiac care right here at home.

St. Francis-Emory Healthcare welcomed our first baby of 2026. Baby Tylil was born at 4:45 a.m. to A’Shanti McKan and Joseph Perkins of Atlanta. He weighed six pounds, six ounces and measured 18.5 inches.

A Mercer School of Medicine graduate with board certification in Internal Medicine, Dr. Alexander Ericksen has called Georgia home for most of his life, serving as a United States Army officer for 13 years. He completed both a Residency and Internship with Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Augusta.

As an Internist, Dr. Ericksen focuses on diagnosis, treatment and prevention for the patients he serves, providing comprehensive medical care including health screenings, diagnostic testing and treatment plans.
