Ohio Youth Empowerment Program

Ohio Youth Empowerment Program The Youth Empowerment Program (YEP) is a statewide, youth-led nonprofit organization that advocates for the rights of Youth.

Our Four Objectives are:

Housing

The YEP seeks to increase safe and affordable housing options for children, youth and young adults. Education

The YEP programs works to guarantee the right to an education for all youth regardless of residency. We also seek to increase the resources to help individuals succeed once they are enrolled and attending a school. Leadership Development

Through trainin

g and practice a youth can become a leader among their peers. Through training, practice and evaluations, youth will be able to take control of their own lives. Civic Engagement

We encourage our youth to actively participate in the society that we all live in. We offer three avenues for civic engagement:

Community Service - By actively participating in service projects that give back to the community helps to create pride among youth, a connection to the community, and a feeling of self worth among individuals. Community Awareness - We seek to educate schools, universities, churches and local organizations about the issues of homeless youth. Only through understanding will others begin to be able to help. Advocacy - Advocacy is the active involvement in the political process by contacting legislatures and government officials about issues and problems that homeless youth deal with everyday. Through our efforts of advocacy, long term solutions of justice become possible.
