Donald J. Trump has been elected the 47th president of the United States. The Associated Press officially called the race early Wednesday morning after the key state of Wisconsin was called, boosting his electoral votes over the 270 threshold to declare victory over current Vice President Kamala Harris.

Trump is the first former president to return to power after losing an incumbent presidency since Grover Cleveland in 1892. He is the first person convicted of a felony to ever be elected president and, at 78, he is also the oldest.
