A lot of people have been to physical therapy before and already have an idea of what to expect. When they are referred to Monarch Physical Therapy, we often hear questions about one of our primary approaches: myofascial release (MFR).

Fascia is a three-dimensional web of connective tissue that runs throughout the entire body, surrounding and supporting muscles, nerves, and organs. When this tissue becomes restricted, it can contribute to pain, limited movement, and difficulty with everyday activities.

Myofascial release is a gentle, hands-on technique that works directly with the fascial system. Using sustained, light pressure and slow holds, MFR allows the tissue to soften and release naturally. This can lead to decreased pain, improved range of motion, and more ease in movement and function.

If you have ever felt “stuck,” tight, or limited without a clear cause, fascial restrictions may be part of the picture.

I have been trained by the best and doing this work for over 20 years. Helping humans and horses feel better. How can I help you?

This summer, I started offering Stall sessions. These are designed to work for the horse and rider at the stall, to balance the rider, work energetically with the horse, or some bodywork with the horse. These arrangements can't be booked on line, but we can set them up and include your vet in on the arrangement. When we all work together amazing things happen.

It's mid-december and the schedule is crazy.
Make time.
The to-do list is longer than my phone battery.
Make time.
Searching for a sugar high and crashing in the HEB parking lot.
Make time.

self care does involve body work, but it also is a multitude of choices. Drink some water, take 5 minutes to walk or lay on the foam roller. Learning to pace yourself through the day is so helpful anytime of year, but especially now.
