Our innovative Gurwin Home Health Aide (HHA) Training Program was featured on News 12 Long Island today on the "Taxing Long Island" segment! Reporter Logan Thomas Crawford visited the Gurwin Home Care Agency in Commack to get a first-hand look at this wonderful opportunity to jump-start a career in healthcare.

Participants receive free, paid training, plus guaranteed job placement as a licensed Gurwin HHA upon successful completion of this 13-day program. Our Gurwin Adult Day Care Health Program participants at Gurwin Jewish Nursing & Rehabilitation Center soaked up the sun and good vibes at our Summer Block Party!

From toe-tappin’ entertainment, backyard-style games, and mouthwatering food, to the classic summer favorite — a visit from the ice cream man — this day was pure sunshine and smiles.

The weather was hot, but the memories? Even hotter.

With the hot weather putting us in a beachy frame of mind, we brought the fun indoors with a beach volleyball game for our residents at Gurwin Jewish Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Everyone had such a blast that we threw in two extra balloon balls to keep the volleys going and the laughter flowing!

Last week, our residents at Gurwin Jewish Nursing & Rehabilitation Center took center stage as we celebrated Therapeutic Recreation Week with a Broadway-themed adventure they’ll never forget!

From exploring the History of Broadway, singing along to classic Broadway Show Tunes with the incredible Mary Sollitto, and getting creative with a Lion King-themed craft, to enjoying a magical movie day with Wicked and stepping virtually into NYC's theater district through our Immersion Room — it was a week full of lights, laughter and standing ovations!

Thank you to everyone who helped make this week a show-stopping success!

Our residents at Gurwin Jewish Nursing & Rehabilitation Center had an amazing time at a recent Drum Circle Workshop led by the talented musician Stacey Danielle D'Amelia!

The energy was contagious, and Stacey brought joy, music and movement to everyone who joined in. She had a blast and loved connecting with our residents — and the feeling was mutual!

We’re thrilled to share that Stacey will be returning for another session in August. We can't wait to welcome her back!
