NSPC Neurosurgeon, Dr. Jonathan Brisman, addresses Billy Joel's recent brain disorder diagnosis. The world famous singer/songwriter from Long Island has recently cancelled upcoming concert appearances due to Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH). A relatively unknown condition, NPH occurs when there’s a gradual buildup of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) in a person’s skull which presses on their brain and disrupts such functions as memory and movement. It is treatable. Learn more at: https://nspc.com/dr-jonathan-brisman-says-billy-joels-brain-disorder-is-treatable/

🧠 Chronic neck pain with spinal cord compression? Here’s how we helped.

This 54-year-old patient had 3 years of persistent neck pain, numbness, and tingling in all extremities—despite PT, chiropractic care, and injections. MRI revealed multilevel disc disease with cord compression and kyphosis from C3-4 to C6-7 (Fig. 9a–c).

We performed a 4-level anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) with interbody cages and plating. Severe osteophyte formation was meticulously drilled and decompressed.

âś… Post-op imaging showed excellent implant positioning (Fig. 10).
đź’¬ The patient experienced significant relief of his preoperative symptoms.
