April 28, 1976 Stout Street Foundation's articles of incorporation were filed in Denver and the official dream of Bradley Lucero Jr. was actualized. 50 years ago today we celebrate all of the lives that have been touched and all of the lives that will be touched in the next 50 years!

The recent history of Stout Street Foundation wouldn't be complete without discussing the impact of these two "one of a kind" gentleman. Christopher Conway and Tom Knight were the definition of tough love and in their respective terms as Executive Directors helped shape the Foundation we have today. Throughout SSF's history we have had supporters come through to support our residents through their recovery journey. Today we want to thank our friends at Pivot Energy who put together a hygiene drive for our residents. We are so grateful for the continued support from our community!

Stout Street Foundation as we know it today would not be here if it was not for the contributions of Nick and Sally Muller. They befriended Brad Jr. and Carolyn in the mid 1970's after moving to Denver and helped get the original articles of incorporation filed to make SSF a reality. They continue to support the Foundation to this day and we are eternally grateful for their contributions. SSF Family please join us in acknowledging these amazing people for all they have done and all they continue to do for our residents!

In 1976 Lillian Potter became the very first female graduate of SSF. She worked with Bradley Lucero Jr. to form the original program and has been a huge advocate for SSF for last 50 years. She returned to the Foundation on several occasions to speak with the current women of the program and offer words of encouragement and proof of what life could offer if they dedicated themselves to the change. Stout Street Foundation Family, please show Lillian and her family the love they deserve!

The story of Stout Street Foundation's journey to 50 years of service wouldn't be complete without highlighting Carolyn J Lucero. Shortly after completing a double major in psychology & sociology she brought an added level of therapy and love to the Foundation's residents. For those that were lucky enough to have her as a counselor, her impact on them was immeasurable. Carolyn's heart and compassion for people in need still lives on to this day at SSF!
