The Lavender Leadership Academy is a paid 10-week program for LGBTQ+ youth (ages 14–18). It’s a chance to explore leadership, teamwork, and identity — all while building confidence and connections.

It also helps with skills that look great on a resume or college application. And graduates of the program qualify to apply for Affirmations’ 2026 Youth Advisory Council!

This week, we're focusing on Understanding Risk and Embracing Treatment, Hope, and Resilience.

There is no “right” way to heal and recover; support should meet people where they are. Healing is personal. Every journey is different.

Signs that someone may be at risk for su***de include:
Feeling hopeless or without purpose
Talking about being a burden
Increased alcohol and drug use
Withdrawing socially
Extreme mood swings

It was a beautiful day for a walk! We were proud to attend Walk4Friendship, hosted by The Friendship Circle for individuals with special needs, as well as those experiencing isolation.
