In Chinese Medicine, blood stagnation is a common cause of pain, menstrual irregularities, and circulatory disorders. Herbs that invigorate the blood are used to promote healthy circulation, disperse stagnation, and relieve discomfort.

Two commonly used herbs include Hong Hua (Safflower), which improves blood flow and alleviates pain, and Chi Shao (Red Peony Root), which both cools and moves the blood to reduce inflammation.

These herbs are essential in formulas designed to regulate menstruation, ease musculoskeletal pain, and support cardiovascular health—when prescribed by a trained practitioner.

If you’ve ever been curious—or even a little hesitant—about acupuncture needles, you’re not alone. Unlike the needles used for injections or blood draws, acupuncture needles are incredibly thin, solid (not hollow), and made of flexible stainless steel. Many are no thicker than a strand of hair, making the experience much gentler than most expect. Historically made from stone, bone, or bamboo, acupuncture needles have evolved, but their purpose remains the same: to stimulate the flow of qi, or vital energy, throughout the body. Modern needles come in various sizes depending on the area being treated—shorter ones for delicate spots like the ears or face, and longer ones for areas with more muscle, like the back or thighs.

When inserted, you might feel a quick tingling, dull pressure, or pulsing sensation that signals the qi is moving. Most patients say that fades quickly, replaced by a deep sense of calm. Acupuncture isn’t about pain—it’s about restoring balance and helping the body heal naturally.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, tonifying herbs are used to nourish and strengthen the body when it is weak, depleted, or fatigued. These herbs restore essential substances such as Qi, Blood, Yin, and Yang—helping the body regain balance and resilience.

While herbs like Ren Shen (Ginseng) are widely recognized for their Qi-boosting and adaptogenic effects, and Gou Qi Zi (Goji Berries) are known for nourishing the Blood and supporting vision, these formulas are never prescribed in isolation. Tonics must be combined thoughtfully with herbs from other categories to ensure proper absorption, prevent stagnation, and avoid unwanted side effects.

When formulated correctly by a trained practitioner, tonifying herbs can support long-term vitality and improve overall function.

There’s nothing quite like summertime—sunny days, outdoor events, and warm nights. But with all the fun comes the challenge of staying cool and balanced. According to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), one of the best ways to regulate body temperature naturally is through seasonal eating. In TCM, food is more than fuel—it’s medicine. By choosing ingredients that match the season’s energetic qualities, you can support your body’s healing process and maintain internal harmony.

Summer is associated with heat and yang energy, which can sometimes leave us feeling overheated or out of balance. Cooling foods like cucumbers are a simple, natural way to bring the body back into alignment. A fresh cucumber salad doesn’t just taste good—it also supports your health. In TCM, cucumbers are known for their ability to detoxify the body, support hydration, and promote a clear, healthy complexion by nourishing from the inside out.

If you’re feeling the effects of summer heat, turn to nature. Combine cooling foods like cucumbers with holistic treatments like acupuncture to regulate Qi, reduce stress, and keep your body balanced all season long. Book your session today and stay well—naturally.

In Chinese Medicine, Qi refers to the body’s vital metabolic energy. When Qi becomes stagnant, patients often experience symptoms such as bloating, poor digestion, chest tightness, or emotional tension.

Herbs that regulate Qi are prescribed to restore proper energetic flow, improving digestive function and reducing internal pressure. Two frequently used herbs include Chen Pi (Tangerine Peel), which supports the Spleen and reduces bloating, and Hou Po (Magnolia Bark), which relieves abdominal fullness and promotes proper movement of Qi through the digestive tract.

When prescribed appropriately, Qi-regulating herbs help restore both physical comfort and emotional equilibrium.

Cupping therapy is more than just a trend—it’s a time-tested practice rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), and the marks it leaves behind are not bruises, but valuable clues. These color changes on your skin are your body’s way of communicating what's happening beneath the surface. Swipe to reveal what cupping marks tell you about your body.

Cupping marks are part of a healing conversation. Over time, as circulation improves and blockages clear, these marks often become lighter and fade more quickly. It’s a visible sign of your body restoring balance.

Cupping isn’t one-size-fits-all, and neither are the marks it leaves. That’s why each session is tailored to your needs, and why regular treatments can support lasting change.

Acupuncture is powerful—but when the body’s imbalances run deeper, herbal medicine offers the support needed to reach the root.

Chinese herbs are one of the most sophisticated internal medicine systems in the world. When prescribed by a trained practitioner, they help regulate complex conditions, restore organ function, and optimize long-term health—especially in cases where Western medications manage but do not resolve the issue.

Swipe through to explore some of the most common conditions treated with Chinese herbal medicine.

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Western medicine both aim to understand the body and promote healing—but they do so in very different ways.
TCM takes a holistic approach. It looks at how systems interact and how symptoms point to deeper imbalances. For example, two people with anxiety may receive completely different treatments based on their unique pattern of disharmony.
Western medicine is more specialized. It focuses on pinpointing a specific diagnosis using lab work and imaging. This is incredibly effective in emergencies but may miss root causes in chronic conditions.
TCM diagnoses are dynamic. As your body changes, so does the treatment. That’s why frequent check-ins early on are essential—healing is an evolving process.

Western diagnoses are typically static. Once diagnosed, treatment protocols rarely change, often leading to long-term prescriptions rather than long-term resolution.

Both systems have their strengths. My goal is to help you feel better using the time-tested methods of Chinese Medicine—whether or not you understand every detail. You don’t need to. That’s what I’m here for.
