Very excited to welcome Gloriagovan to the AltaMed Foundation Board of Trustee.

We welcome Gloriagovan, President of RLNTLSS Brands and co-founder of Inclusive Wellness and Tabula Rasa Productions, a multi-media production company, to the AltaMed Foundation Board of Trustees.

Gloria is a multi-faceted and successful entrepreneur . Her interest in wellness and health was ignited by her mother's battle with breast cancer in 2005.

A mother of five, Gloria is also passionate about empowering and creating access to learning and growth opportunities for underserved youth in communities of color.

As co-founder of Tabula Rasa Productions, Gloria uses her platform to amplify minority-centric stories in the entertainment industry and fund support for youth development programs that promote literacy, health, fitness, and athletics through the Derek Fisher Be Better Foundation.

In 1987, AltaMed expanded its impact by establishing the AltaMed Foundation. Since its inception, the AltaMed Foundation has been at the forefront of advancing health, equity, life, and programs that make a lasting impact on our communities. From mobile medical and dental units to women's care, free mammograms, pediatrics, and school-based mental health, we’re dedicated to ensuring everyone has access to the care they need.

We have partnered with corporations, foundations, and individuals like you to raise millions in support of critical services like HIV prevention, youth programs, workforce development, and addressing the Latino provider shortage. Together, we’re not just fundraising—we’re building a future where quality care and opportunities are accessible to all.

Speaking at the first AltaMed Nursing Pathway graduation was inspiring. These nursing professionals are truly committed to their vocation and caring for the communities that AltaMed serves.

The AltaMed Nursing Pathway graduation is a dream come true and a testament to the founders of AltaMed, known then as the East LA Barrio Free Clinic. Fifty-five years ago, we relied on volunteer nurses and doctors to serve our community.

Today, we proudly grow our own, encouraging current employees to develop professionally via our nursing school collaborative. These nurses will continue to serve in our clinics, significantly impacting our community.

Yet, we still need more nurses. California alone will have a shortage of nearly 17,000 full-time nurses next year. The situation is more dire when it comes to Latino and Black nurses.

This makes our new graduates extremely precious, not only to AltaMed but to our entire community.

Thank you to Senator Alex Padilla Alex Padilla for trusting AltaMed Health Services to get his COVID-19 booster and for sharing gratitude directly with our frontline health care workers.

AltaMed has various locations across Southern California where you can get your flu vaccine regardless of your ability to pay.

Let's stay healthy and protect our families, friends, colleagues, and neighbors this flu and winter season.

!Mi gente Latina!

Did you know that our total U.S. population is now comprised of more than 62 million Hispanics, according to the U.S. Census Bureau?

The Pew Research Center says the U.S. Hispanic population is the nation's second fastest growing ethnic group.

Yet we still lack representation.

Statistics from a study done by the University of Massachusetts show that 4.3% of the executive suite is represented by Latinos, while we make up 17% of the labor force.

So why aren't we taking up more space?

I believe that keeping our Latino community healthy is the first building block to get there. I've dedicated my life's work to supporting this cause.

The time for Latinos is NOW. You can find out how you can empower our community in the link in my bio.

I love to spend time cooking for my family and loved ones. It's a way to show my love and also pass down a bit of my culture in every dish.

But you know, us Latinos don't use recipes.
Un poco de esto y aquello. Don't ask a Latina mom for tablespoon and cup measurements. That's a sure way to get kicked out of the kitchen! 😅🥄
But one thing sure is true-us Latinos all have our secret sauce. It's in our cooking, in our leadership, in the way we execute and chase our dreams. It's that secret sauce some people are still trying to figure out. It's what makes our culture so rich, enchanting, and powerful.

Harness your secret sauce, perfect it, mix it, and spread it on all aspects of your life. That's our superpower. Our Latinidad.
