Jenny Lynn Stone

The true joy of Jenny Lynn Pruitt Stone, born in Toccoa on January 12, 1964, to Dempsey Hoyt Pruitt and Geraldine Bond Pruitt, passed peacefully from this earth while holding the hands of her husband of 31 years, Ted Stone, at their home in Hull, Georgia.

Raised in the Nails Creek Baptist Church community, Jenny brought smiles to so many in a million ways. She was a natural, award-winning customer service representative, serving several corporations over 35 years of employment. She was soft-hearted, hard-working, down-to-earth, and always open to a good coffee conversation.

Jenny loved to stop and smell the flowers, pet the animals, and cross the street to greet old friends—of which there were many. Even though she was hampered by immobility in her later years, she nearly completed a deep study of the chronological Bible (KJV), took up knitting, enjoyed Bible crosswords, and added over 23,000 names to her family tree—tracing her DNA across every state and back more than 400 years.

In addition to her husband, Jenny is survived by her close-knit family, including her sisters, Julie Pruitt (Kenneth) Bradley and Ellen (Tracy) Thompson. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews: Joseph (Christina) Bradley, Jacob Bradley, Stephanie (Will) Skiffen, Aaron Thompson, Chad (JoEllen) Stone, Jamie (Andrew) Leatherman, Kristin (Thad) Horst, Jessica Higgins, and Michael Stone, as well as the precious great-nieces and great-nephews.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Jenny’s life beginning with a visitation on April 26th from 2:00–5:00 PM at Ivie Funeral Home, 1053 S. Elm Street, Commerce, Georgia. The funeral service will be held on Monday, April 27th at Nails Creek Baptist Church, 2743 Highway 51, Homer, Georgia, at 2:00 PM, with viewing beginning at 1:00 PM. Sharing of memories and love is encouraged, reflecting Jenny’s deep love for people. Burial will follow the service, with refreshments to be served in the Fellowship Hall afterward—and of course, coffee.

Although Jenny was unable to be as active in the community in recent years, she always planned to be a leader and gave generously to many causes. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to The Humane Society, Samaritan’s Purse, or The Cancer Foundation of Northeast Georgia. Please also watch for the emergence of “Jenny’s Joy Foundation,” which will continue spreading her light.

Jenny’s faith in the Lord was the foundation of her life, and she found great comfort in His promises. “Well done, good and faithful servant.” (Matthew 25:23)

Whether through church, community, family, or work, all were Jenny’s friends, and she leaves behind countless cherished memories.

May she rest in peace.
