We're thrilled that one of our own, Duchess Quetuilo, was nominated for this prestigious international nursing award. Be sure to show your appreciation for her in the comments!

Duchess Quetuilo has been nominated for the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. She works as a nurse at our Taylor Glen campus in Concord.

The DAISY Award is an international recognition for nurses who go above and beyond with exceptional care. Nurses are nominated by patients, families and/or co-workers who observe their compassionate care in action. Duchess' nominator had only wonderful things to say about her:

"She approaches each resident with kindness, dignity, and respect; taking the time to not only meet clinical needs, but to understand the individual behind them."

Our ThriveMore team is full of exceptional team members, but this spring we were thrilled that eight of our nurses were each nominated for the award. One winner will be chosen from the nominees and announced at an awards celebration lunch May 12th. Be sure to check back each day this week to see the other nurses nominated for the DAISY Award.

If your life has been touched by Duchess, please share your appreciation for her in the comments!

Taylor Glen residents celebrated the Kentucky Derby in style on Friday. We hosted a themed reception complete with Southern snacks and drinks. Residents who dressed the part then joined in on a hat parade.

Thanks so much to all who attended and made this event a success!

On Friday, our Dining Team celebrated College Announcement Day, and our seniors proudly wore their future university gear to share where they’re headed next. We are so excited to announce that all three will be attending their chosen universities on outstanding scholarships, a true reflection of their hard work and dedication!

We couldn’t be prouder of all they’ve accomplished and can’t wait to see what’s ahead for them.

We’re excited to be politing a new AI-driven technology in the health care center as part of our ongoing commitment to innovation and high-quality care. We're partnering with Sync Labs, and founder Melanie Herbert is on site this week to support a seamless launch at the center and conduct training sessions with the team.

This initiative is currently launching as a focused trial, and we're excited to see the results of this new process and potentially implement learnings at our other campuses as well.

At ThriveMore, we’re always exploring smarter, more responsible ways to support our teams and enhance the care experience for those we serve. Innovations like this reflect our belief that doing better means remaining open to new tools that can help us give residents the highest quality of care.

Very soon, we’ll be announcing this year’s DAISY Award nominees from across ThriveMore — nurses who have made a lasting difference through their compassion, dedication and heart. Then on May 12, we’ll come together to celebrate the nurse selected for this incredible honor. Stay tuned as we recognize the extraordinary nurses who inspire us all.

The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses is one of the most respected honors in nursing — an international recognition created to celebrate the skill, compassion and extraordinary care nurses provide every day. Established by the family of a patient who witnessed firsthand the incredible impact of nurses, the DAISY Award exists to say thank you in a meaningful way.

We're thrilled that one of our own will receive this recognition, and excited to share more soon about some of our wonderful nurses that make a difference in residents' lives every day.

The Villa Apartments at Taylor Glen are getting finishing touches, including furniture and design in the hallways and common spaces.

We're thrilled with the gorgeous design and implementation from Carolyn Weaver at SFCS Interiors. President and CEO Reed VanderSlik, Chief Marketing Officer Jen Bartscht and Leadership Gift Officer Zaria Boozer toured the building earlier this week for an early glimpse and definitely were wowed by the results.

The Villa Apartments are the final stage in Taylor Glen's expansion project. New residents will move in this summer.

This month our resident spotlight is Alease Hubbard. Alease brings a calm, kind and steady presence to those around her every day. She has loved living at Taylor Glen, where she's surrounded by others in a place that feels like home.

Alease was married to husband Herman for 69 years and they had one son. Her favorite book is the Bible, and her advice is always to read the Bible every day.

We're so thankful Alease is part of our community! Please greet her in the comments and let her know you're happy she's here too.

Our longest-living resident turned 102 recently! Help us wish Jeanne Harrell a happy birthday.

What's the secret a staying youthful? Jeanne said to live -- just live life fully! Enjoy the life that you have.

She said she never gave much thought to how she'd age before moving to Taylor Glen.

"I just never thought of getting old, where I'd be," she said. "It just never entered my mind. I was too busy living."

Jeanne never lets anything slow her down, learning new skills, like swimming, since she's been living at Taylor Glen and even still taking part in the gardening club.

And she's found a wonderful community at Taylor Glen. Her floor in independent living is made up of some fantastic people, she said. The surprised her recently with a party for her birthday, surrounding her with love and well wishes -- and a beautiful cake and cupcakes.
