During the Releasing process you may come across this painful area in the sternum, under your shoulder blade. The emotions held there are hopelessness and heartache! USE F.I.L.M. Process:
🫀 1. FEEL It
Say it out loud or write: “I feel hopeless. I feel heartache.”
This begins emotional regulation by giving the pain a voice — not a cage.
💬 “This is what I feel. It’s not from today, it's from the past.”
💨 2. Breathe with Intention
Try this 4-7-8 breath:
Inhale 4 seconds
Hold 7 seconds
Exhale 8 seconds
Do this for 3–5 minutes to calm your nervous system.
Hopelessness often lives in a dysregulated, exhausted body.
💔 3. Move the Emotion
Let your body express:
Cry. Shake. Scream into a pillow.
Dance slowly with sad music.
Emotions need motion to clear.
🔥 4. Speak to the Ache with Compassion
Try saying:
“I see you, pain. You were trying to protect me.” “I don't need to carry all of this alone anymore.”
Talk to your heartache like it’s a part of you needing care, not exile.
🌿 5. Release in Layers
You may need:
Guided trauma release sessions if severely repressed.
You don't heal by forcing it out. You heal by letting it rise in safety and move with guidance.
