NH Family Ties - Family Connections Program partners families who are looking for information or emotional support with families who have been there.
If you are the parent of a child with temporary or long-term special challenges, you may want to speak to a parent whose child has similar needs - someone who will understand. NH Family Ties is a network of New Hampshire families willing to share experiences. The foundation of the program is Parent Matches between Supporting Parents, who "have been there" with referred parents of children with special needs (medical, developmental, emotional, learning). NH Family Ties also provides Information and Referral for community resources, services, support groups, state support programs, and others. We provide training for parents who would like to become volunteer Supporting Parents.

The topic for NEXT WEEKS Sibshop Club is Fragile X Syndrome. The kids took a vote and FXS was what they wanted to learn more about.
Hi Everyone! With school back into swing, itâs time to get The Statewide Sibshop Club Rockinâ and Rollinâ again!
The BEST part of attending⌠your child has the opportunity to talk to other kids who are experiencing the same or similar situations with their brother or sister. Itâs a step in learning how to network and build friendship through the sharing of their own experiences!
We all know as parents and family care givers that itâs pretty empowering to talk to someone who âgets itâ đ
We have changed our meeting days to the Third Thursday of every month and a new time of 4:00 p.m. â 5:30 p.m. beginning September 15th, 2022 via Zoom.

Facing challenges is never easy. When you become a parent, the challenges increase. As if that's not challenging enough... now you are a parent or family member of a child who requires a variety of individualized needs and supports to assist them in being successful in life.
Throughout life's course there are times when simply talking to another person who has experienced the same or similar situation can help. They are more apt to understand what you are going through and able to provide information or emotional support that is helpful.
Family Connections can assist with this matching process!
NH Family Ties was established in 2013 as a Parent to Parent Program which began in NH in 1989. In an effort to express our overall mission to Connect, Inform and Strengthen individuals and families, we have changed the name of our Parent to Parent Program to the:
âFamily Connections Program".
We are and continue to be a member of the Parent to Parent USA Alliance and committed to Parent to Parent USA endorsed practices. NH Family Ties is in the process of developing a new frame work for the Family Connections program to keep up with the need of supporting families and making it more accessible with the increasingly busy lives we all lead. Technology can be a great thing... and we aim to please! However, in remembering how great technology can be, there is nothing like having a live voice, person to person with a one on one conversation.
