Our Story
At Om Yoga opened on Main Street in 2002. Over the years our style has evolved with spontaneous grace. Classes are generally “follow the guide” in which you as the practitioner simply assumes a pose closest to what is being guided from the center of the room. The vibe is meditative and the instruction is direct, effective, and poetic. The class will have strong elements of fitness focused core and standing flows as well as deep longer holds. This yoga lineage is birthed from an ancient matriarchal tribe of Northern Indian yoga masters. Their philosophy and practices are similar to the Tibetan Vajrayana Buddhism of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. It is integral, alive, and limitless, drawing from many effective spirital paths and practices. It has been passed down to us directly through the grace of a trinity of contemporary tantrik revalators, Parvathi Nanda Nath, Guruji Amritananda Nath and the Dalai Lama. The shakti flow asana practice draws primarily from the marriage of a trinity of contemporary yoga revolutionaries: Shiva Rea, Parvathi Nanda Nath and Jivamukti Yoga's David Life and Sharon Gannon. Classes are for all levels
