NH Chapter of the American Holistic Nurses Association

NH Chapter of the American Holistic Nurses Association Holistic nursing is defined as all nursing practice that has healing the whole person as its goal. Imagine your dream. Hold it expectantly in your consciousness.

The AHNA intention is to realize the dream that one day all nurses will be holistic in both their personal lives and the nursing practice. Watch it unfold.

We are all one.

We are all one.

The American Holistic Nurses Association joins the national nursing community in mourning the death of our colleague, Alex Jeffrey Pretti, RN.

In moments like these, many of us are holding grief, shock, fear, and fatigue—sometimes all at once. As holistic nurses, we are reminded to return to our core AHNA values: Compassion, Authenticity, Integrity, Wellness, and Inclusivity.

Wellness during difficult times includes intentional self-care:

✨ Checking in with our emotions and energy
✨ Honoring our capacity and limits
✨ Practicing gratitude and prayer or reflection
✨ Offering quiet acts of care to those in need

We invite you to pause with us, to hold those who are grieving gently in your heart, and to direct intentions of peace, love, and healing where you feel called.

Connection matters.

Please check in with one another, listen deeply, and remember that your presence—calm, caring, and authentic—is a powerful form of healing.

TY!

1st of 3 Planetary Health Webinars by AHNA.. each with a focus: Air, Water, Land.

Next Wednesday, January 17 AHNA will be hosting an educational webinar, Holistic Nursing for Planetary & Human Health: Perspectives on Air presented by Heidi Honegger Rogers, DNP, FNP C, APHN BC, FNAP; Annette Watson is an RN, HN-BC; Leslie LaPointe APRN, MSN, CPNP, CHSE & Hacah Goggin, RN, MSN. In this webinar, the AHNA community is invited into a conversation about the interconnection of human and planetary health with AHNA Planetary Task Force members. Planetary Health will be defined, and the 2021 AHNA Planetary Health statement will be reviewed. Presenters will then discuss the primary sources and kinds of air pollution (indoor and outdoor) and the physical and mental/emotional effects it has. The role of health care itself as a contributor to poor air quality will also be highlighted, and presenters will provide examples of how holistic nurses can effectively participate and collaborate in efforts to mitigate and minimize the health impacts of current and future air pollution as part of their practice. Participants will self-identify a change to practice that they intend to make and be provided with resources that will help them be successful.
