Why does gratitude work?
Welcome to Grateful Friday! Let’s get into it.

This week I’ve had several people share hard moments AND share moments of gratitude. What I noticed was the shift in mood and perspective 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐞 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞.

We have to 𝐩𝐚𝐲 𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐞’𝐫𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧. The reality for a lot of people is that they can EASILY find things that aren’t going right in their lives. That can feel overwhelming and hopeless inducing.

What about people that experience hardship AND still try to find something (no matter how small) to be grateful for?

Do all their problems go away? No!

Do they have a little more hope and the energy to move forward? Yes!

That small shift brings people from a place of pure darkness to a place where light can be seen.

The challenge? Find one specific thing in your day to be grateful for.

We all have different battles this week. Just remember, you’re not alone.

Grateful Friday is here!

My gratitude for the week is about food. This week was special because my wife was gone for a few days and she has allergies. That meant, while she was gone, I was able to eat whatever I wanted!

It’s simple, I know, but I’m truly grateful for the tasty meals I’ve had. I know other people may not have the same opportunity and privilege.

Sometimes, a perspective shift is all we needed to make things clear.

Keep in mind, changing your perspective doesn’t bring people back from the dead, cure diseases, etc.

What it does is it helps you see what else is present. What else can you focus on?

Have you done some gratitude today?
It’s Grateful Friday so here’s your chance!

Earlier this week I listened to someone share what they’ve learned from playing sports. It made me think about what I’ve gained from playing:

🏆Pushing through hard things.
🏆Learning how to focus on tasks.
🏆Knowing what it takes to be great at something.
🏆Lifelong friendships.
🏆Learning what it means to ”play your part”.
Etc.

I seriously could go on and on. I’m so grateful I had the opportunity to play the sports I love and gain all these things. They’re things that have stayed with me years later. 😁

Side note: Yes, you can gain these things without playing a sport too.

We can definitely learn from past mistakes, pain, misery, etc. Then we look ahead to what today brings… What tomorrow ca...

It’s Grateful Friday! What do we have today?

Well I’m grateful for the different opportunities I’ve had to serve others. Times when I step out of my usual roles and routines to slow down and do something for someone else.

It’s hard when you feel like you’re busy all the time and there’s so much to do. It truly requires you to slow down, be mindful, and not think of serving yourself, but think of serving and blessing someone else.
