One of our slightly random family traditions is celebrating St. Patrick’s Day. We LOVE IT!

When we lived in Richmond the festival was HUGE and always so fun… so when our little town where we are now, announced they were having one we were excited.

My daughter and I showed up ready for the full experience.

Hit the Bathroom ✔
Got the Brats ✔
Walk down to the festival ✔

…only to discover they were shutting everything down at 4:00 pm.

We had been there approximately 20 minutes.

Dreams=Dashed. Like I was really upset...lol.

It was raining, the festival was closing,(supposed to be going'til 8pm?) and somehow there were Irish flags everywhere but they were playing 90s alternative music.

Like… how are we at a St. Patrick’s Day festival listening to Dave Matthews and Soundgarden??

So we pivoted.
Wandered through a little shop, grabbed a drink, then wiped down some wet chairs with a blanket from the car and sat outside anyway.

Which also means we were so busy rolling with the randomness that we completely forgot to take pictures or even a single selfie at said celebration.

And honestly… it ended up being kind of perfect.

Slightly random traditions, slightly random festivals… still a good day. 🍀💗😜

One of the simplest wellness habits I’ve added lately is rebounding.

It’s gentle on the joints, helps stimulate lymphatic movement, and is a surprisingly good mood booster.

Nothing complicated… just a few minutes of bouncing and moving the body.

Of course, I had a little helper join me today 😄

Sometimes wellness doesn’t have to be an intense workout or a perfect routine.
Sometimes it’s just finding small ways to move your body consistently.

Little things really do add up.
Getting healthy doesn't have to be complicated or time-consuming!

Every little bit helps... progress over perfection!

Sometimes the best weekends aren’t documented perfectly… because you’re too busy actually living them.

This past weekend was mom’s birthday weekend ❤️

All the siblings came in… we surprised her with a trip to a train museum (she LOVES trains)… and a beautiful waterfront lunch that was so relaxing I forgot to take pictures 😆

We laughed.
We cried.
We ate.
We loved.
We talked LOUD (Much to dads chagrin...lol..IYKYK😜)
We memorified. (I’ve decided this is a word.)

And somehow… against all odds… we got my dad laughing so hard he cried... which if you know my dad… you know that is a rare and glorious event 😂 (scroll to see it in all it's glory!)

But really… none of this happens without her.
She is THE GLUE.

My mom is in her 80's… and still runs circles around me.

She raised five kids… has more grandchildren and great-grandchildren than I can count without coffee… loves Jesus fiercely… prays for us constantly… and I’m fully convinced she would fight a bear for us all if necessary 🐻😅

She is strong.
She is fierce.
She is kind.
She is faithful.
She is iconic.

And I’m just really, really grateful to call her Mom.

Some weekends aren’t about productivity or checking boxes…

Some weekends are just about being present and soaking in the people who built your world.

I'm mighty thankful for all of you OG's💞

And I'm so thankful for you Mom!🙌🥰🫶🥹

2️⃣ the carrots?? borderline intimidating.

I stood there like…

sir… are you a carrot or a small baseball bat.

Another question is there such a thing as buying TOO much produce?
Asking for a friend ...😜

No regrets.
Future me will figure it out.

Honestly though — there’s something about walking into a place full of real food that just resets my brain a little.

Color. Freshness. Possibility.
Like… ok body, we’re doing better this week.
Like, we are going to feel REAL good✨💪

Anyway… if you ever needed a reminder:
