Minority Friendly Counseling and Prevention
The International Center for Wellness is a private community-based whole health agency that is minority friendly and focuses on providing positive health and mental health outcomes through psychotherapy, prevention, education, and resources. We are located in the North East community of Columbia SC with streams of resources to also provide services to the Charlotte, NC community in addition to telehealth services to reach underserved communities throughout North and South Carolina. The agency was founded in 2014 by Lekeshia Lynch-Psychotherapist a native of Concord, North Carolina and caters to the needs of Individuals, families, and communities.
Lekeshia has over 25 years experience in health/mental health and her most recent role serves as Health Administrator of special projects for a major private insurance carrier. Her role involves managing projects which include the following: Recovery Support behavioral health, ER Diversion, Person Center Medical homes, and Health Promotion. She has worked with populations to include: Intellectual disabilities, Adult and Youth mental health treatment, Geriatric healthcare, Substance Use Disorders, Managed Care, Crisis response teams and Residential Services. Lekeshia is a graduate of the University of South Carolina Masters of Clinical Social Work program 2015 and a 2014 graduate of Johnson C Smith University. Lekeshia has an extensive history working on the current recovery movement to address the Opioid crisis through providing preventative measure in addition to advocating and lobbying for improvements of the peer recovery program to encourage positive change in funding and service provisions.
