We (Larry and Karen Redmond) built Spirit Hill Farm in 2008 with the purpose of learning to become more self reliant. We are Spiritualists by Religion, and are studying to become Certified Mediums and Ministers within the Spiritualist Church. We recognize and study the tenets of all the world's great religions as being part of the whole....we are all related. And we believe in Natural Law. We host Drumming Circles 4 times a year honoring those who walked before us during the changing of the seasons.....I offer drum making classes in both the traditional Animal Hide Frame Drum, and a more synthetic Tube Drum....and from time to time we offer other events and classes. We are practicing Mediums, Distributors in both DoTerra and Essential oils, and distributor in Pure Herbs Ltd. (A Michigan company). AND I am a mobile DJ available for hire for Weddings parties etc....indoors or out. Upon Building our small Farm, we began learning of the many other inhabitants that live here, both in the Physical and Spiritual Realms....you can see some of our experiences in the photo albums here. Our goal was to become more self sufficient, more self reliant. To learn the medicinal values of wild plants, to break away as much as possible from manufactured foods and the poisons they contain, and attempt stay away as much as possible from big pharma by learning the natural ways of long ago. To learn Organic gardening, growing much of our own food and learning to preserve it for later use. Along with that we decided to increase our awareness of the world around us and to become more prepared for the unstable events that seem to be happening at ever increasing frequencies... During the days gone by, our ancestors always stayed ahead of the game, they always kept inventories of the necessities of life so they could coast more smoothly through lean times without panic or worry......an art form that in recent decades we have grown father away from and instead keep our pantries stocked with "Just in time" regularity. AND along with that, I continue to practice the DYI attitude I was raised with, relying on my own skills to keep everything maintained...to fix what I'm not ready to part with yet...and construct what I need with my own hands...and learn new skills to expand my abilities. We also are developing a Ceramic/Pottery Studio offering Slip Cast Ceramic pieces for sale both in Greenware and bisque...open to the public.
