Activity on 5/10, I didn't have my jacket on so I couldn't get much closer without irritating them. The farm these bees are on is a great location, its a vegetable farm without all the chemicals. Our girls love it here.

Pictures from last weekend, our two surviving hives were split 3 times, we currently have 5 hives buzzing around collecting pollen as fast as they can go! We have a few boxes out in case a swarm needs a place to settle into. There should be lots of honey this year...😊

Update on the bees...we started out this year with 2 surviving hives. One was very strong and was able to provide enough bees to split off 2 new hives, the other hive split off once for a new total of 5 hives. We also have a couple boxes out to try to draw in swarms. Hoping for a successful summer with good weather. We will also be trying out some frames for comb honey, if you've never tried it that way it is amazing!
