Hello!
The cooler weather has definitely arrived and we need your help.

Many of our ambulance blankets have disappeared over the last couple of months. If you have gone for a ride with us recently or possibly flown out in a helicopter - could you please check to see if the hospital sent you home with one of our blankets. Thank you for your help!

Have you thought about helping in your community? Are you interested in joining South Gilliam County Ambulance Service (SGCAS). We are exploring the possibility of offering an Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) class starting this fall. The class would be held 2 nights a week and every other Saturday morning over the course of 4 months and total approximately 40-60 hours of training. Students who complete the class and testing are eligible to be licensed as EMRs and would be able to respond with our service. South Gilliam County Ambulance Service (SGCAS) would like to honor M'Lis Jamieson for her commitment to our agency and our community. M'Lis retired June 30, 2025 after 22 years of active service responding to medical and trauma calls within our service area. M'lis also served as the bookkeeper for the ambulance service for many years. M'Lis was known for her incredible compassion in dealing with patients of all ages - with special empathy for veterans and the elderly. M'Lis often kept the rest of the crew organized with her attention to detail in regards to all the necessary forms and required information needing to be completed on each patient. The entire crew of SGCAS respectfully thanks M'Lis for her years of service and friendship. She will be sorely missed.

M'Lis is not on FaceBook but if you see her out and about in the community please thank her for her dedication and years of service.

Our sincere condolences go out to the Coeur D’Alene Fire Department and Kootenai County Fire and Rescue who lost two of their own yesterday, with a third severely injured, in an ambush. We pray for the families of these responders. and to all of the fire, EMS and law enforcement personnel who responded to this horrific event.

The South Gilliam County Ambulance Service (SGCAS) would like to congratulate Todd Lake on completing his National Registry Emergency Medical Technician license. Todd started the EMT training with ImpactEMS (an online, self-paced program that allows students to complete the EMT training remotely over the course of a year) in March of 2024. Todd joined SGCAS in early 2022 as an Emergency Medical Responder. Todd's expanded scope of practice will benefit SGCAS in allocating resources more efficiently. The service is grateful for Todd's dedication in completing this additional training. A special thank you to Todd's wife, Stephanie, who supported him through his studies and continues to support him as he responds in the future. Again, Congratulations Todd.
