This Hanukkah, many will be lighting the menorah with broken hearts. As we mourn the lives taken at Bondi Beach, we are reminded how fragile light can feel in moments of deep darkness.

Judaism teaches that a single flame can push back against the darkness. Hanukkah calls on us not to look away, but to add light — deliberately, courageously — even when hope feels thin.

At TOUCH, through food, care, and dignity, we strive to fulfill the mitzvah of caring for one another and to bring אור (light) where it is most needed.

May the lights of Hanukkah honor the souls we have lost, bring comfort to mourners, and strengthen our resolve to choose compassion over despair.

As we gather with family and friends for the holidays, we’re reminded that a full table—something many of us take for granted—is still out of reach for too many of our neighbors. Every day, families in our community face impossible choices: rent or groceries, heat or dinner, medication or a week’s worth of meals.

As the year comes to a close, we are facing a growing need. Rising costs and Federal government cutbacks have pushed more families to seek help.

Your gift today ensures that the tables we filled this year stay full in 2026.
It keeps our trucks on the road and our nutrition and case management running programs reaching families who need them most.
It transforms food that would be wasted into hope, health, and dignity.

Because of your incredible generosity, was able to purchase 650 half-gallons of milk and 1,350 dozen eggs — essentials that went straight to 16 local food pantries this morning. 🥛🍳

And we’re doing it again next week.

This year has tested the resilience of so many in our community—especially our neighbors living with chronic illness and those struggling to put food on the table. Through every challenge, TOUCH has been at the forefront to fight hunger, improve health, and bring hope to those who need it most.

At the heart of what we do is a simple but powerful truth: Food is love, food is life and food is medicine. Nutritious food doesn’t just fill stomachs—it strengthens bodies, stabilizes health, and restores dignity.

Rising costs and additional SNAP cuts that are scheduled for 2026 mean too many of our neighbors still face impossible choices—between food and medication, or between rent and groceries.

This World AIDS Day 2025, we affirm that advancing a compassionate, human-rights–centered AIDS response requires unity, resilience, and bold leadership—especially as funding cuts threaten decades of hard-won progress. TOUCH’s name reflects our mission and our heart: not just our ethos of  coming together to care for each other but recalling a painful time when people living with AIDS were shunned, stigmatized, and too often denied even the comfort of a simple human touch.

Today, we remember the lives lost, honor the extraordinary progress made, and celebrate how far we’ve come in transforming HIV into a condition where people can truly thrive.
