Rockland County Unites to Fight Hunger 🍎 With SNAP benefits expected to lapse on November 1st due to the ongoing federal shutdown, thousands of Rockland families may face food insecurity.

To help meet the growing need, the County of Rockland and all five towns have launched a Countywide Food Drive, collecting non-perishable food items and monetary donations to support local pantries.

💵 Every $1 donated helps pantries purchase up to $10 worth of food through the Regional Food Bank and every can, box, or bag of food makes a difference for a neighbor in need.

Drop-off locations and a list of accepted non-perishables can be found in the flyers attached.

Each week, the Get Fresh Food Distribution brings together volunteers and community partners to deliver tons of fresh produce and nutritious food to pantries across . 🥕🍎

We joined the effort to help load and deliver food that will go directly to local families in need. 💚

A big THANK YOU to TOUCH - Together Our Unity Can Heal, the lead organization coordinating the program; Rockland Conservation & Service Corps, which helps recruit volunteers; Regional Food Bank Hudson Valley, which donates the food; and the Town of Ramapo, which provides the space!

🦃 TOUCH is proud to join forces with for the largest turkey distribution in New York State!

On November 22, the will distribute over 115,000 meals to 25,000 people across 23 counties — all in one day!

Our Executive Director Julian Palmer stood with Food Bank CEO Tom Nardacci in Montgomery as they announced this incredible Thanksgiving initiative.

No one should go hungry during the holidays — and together, we’re making sure of it.

Thanks to a large donation from ’s Gleanmobile and the , many of our partner food pantries in Rockland County will be able to distribute farm fresh, local potatoes this week to the community.

Those tractors in the distance are bringing in the harvest for our Food rescue Hero Larry to truck back to Rockland.

We are so grateful to be a part of turning excess into Access!
