Tip 7: Take Action, Don’t Freeze 💪

👉 Remember: Any CPR is better than no CPR. Don’t worry about perfection — just start. The biggest mistake? Doing nothing at all. You might be their only chance.

Tip 6: Hands in the Right Place ✋
👉 Place your hands in the center of the chest, on the lower half of the sternum. Accuracy matters. Hands too high, too low, or off to the side = less effective compressions.

This is one of the many reasons hands-on, in-person CPR training is so important — you don’t just learn what to do, you feel how to do it right.

💡 Confidence comes from practice. Train with Prepared For Life CPR.

✨ Learn CPR With Confidence: 9 Tips to Doing It Right ✨
Helping in an emergency is brave — and even small adjustments can make CPR more effective.

Tip 5: Minimize Pauses in Compressions🛑
👉 Keep compressions going as much as possible. Every second of steady CPR helps. Every pause lowers survival chances. Keep interruptions as short as possible — even for breaths or an AED (between 5-10 seconds).

Tip 4: Let the Chest Rise 🙌

Full recoil lets the heart refill with blood. If you are leaning on the chest, it can’t rise fully, blood won’t refill the heart.
👉 Press hard, then let the chest spring back up.

💗 October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month 💗

Every October, we come together to raise awareness, honor survivors, support those currently fighting, and remember the lives taken too soon. Breast Cancer Awareness Month is not only about the pink ribbons we wear, but about sparking conversations, encouraging screenings, and reminding each other that early detection can save lives.

This month is also about empowerment through knowledge. One powerful tool is genetic testing — helping people understand their risks and take action before cancer has the chance to take hold.

✨For me, this is personal. I recently learned I carry the BRCA2 gene mutation. While receiving that news was not easy, it gave me something invaluable: knowledge! Because of testing, I can make the best decisions for myself and my family.

💡 Knowledge is power. Awareness is protection. Action is hope.

This October, let’s commit not just to wearing pink, but to empowering ourselves and others with the information and resources that can truly make a difference.

💗 Be proactive. Be informed. Be empowered.

Tip 3: Keep the Beat ⏱️

👉 Aim for 100–120 compressions per minute. The heart needs speed to circulate blood. Think of a steady, fast rhythm like “Stayin’ Alive.” Or Bruno Mars, "Uptown Funk".

Tip 2: Push Deep 💔
👉 Adults and Children need at least 2 inches deep compressions. Push hard. Push strong
Strong compressions = strong circulation.
Too light = not enough blood flow.

Tip 1: Call for Help 🚨
👉 Always call 911 (or direct someone else to) before starting CPR. Professional help must be on the way while you act. In the panic of an emergency, people forget the most important first step — getting help on the way. Every second matters.
