A key to success: implementing small, achievable changes and effort to be consistent with those changes.
This is doable by everyone. This requires some patience as well as persistence. Doing so allows for easier transitioning to a better state of being. That translates to improved emotional, spiritual, mental, physical, and even financial well being.
Reaching your goals and desires shouldn't cause undue stress and frustration. That can keep you were you're at and stop you from growth and achievement. You can grow if you're stagnant. For things you change, you need to change. That's big. Why jump into something headfirst, set standards that you realistically can't achieve at this moment when you can instead break your goals down into easier and doable steps that bring you results and momentum to do more?
We tend to jump into huge change, motivated by others (whether close to us or on social media), the New Year, or perhaps some event we've experienced. We've been well trained by society to an all or nothing approach that can hugely backfire, getting us nowhere and perhaps adding in some negative self talk and behaviors that further thwart our successes.
This kind of behavior, done repetively, is a form of self sabotage. You can look at your past goals, actions, and results to see whether this is true for you.
Today, take a moment to a step back. Review your goals. Write down what actionable steps you can take today to get you a step closer to your goals. Just make sure the next step is really doable for you. Document your efforts to see your achievements so you can see how far you've come. Praise yourself along the way. If you stumble, forgive yourself and get back to it. It's not a race and it's not about perfection. It's about achieving your goals in ways that work for you.
Don't compare yourself to anyone. This is your journey... your life. Live it on your terms, and give yourself the space and time to make it what you want it to be.
