Keith L. Hawn
The Marcy Family and Staff extend our deepest sympathy to his family and friends.
Keith L. Hawn, 77, of Kingsville, OH passed away on Friday, March 20, 2026, surrounded by his loving family following a lengthy illness at Ashtabula Regional Medical Center. He was born April 4, 1948, in Kingsville, Ohio to the late Charles and Vivian (Anderson) Hawn.
Keith grew up in Kingsville, graduated from Edgewood High School in 1966, and served on the class reunion committee. In 2023, Keith was inducted into the Ashtabula Touchdown Club Hall of Fame for his high school football achievements as a 5’8” 140-pound offensive guard and linebacker.
In January of 1969, he was drafted to the United States Army and served during the Vietnam War in the 9th Infantry Division, conducting riverine operations in the Mekong Delta. While serving in the Army, he received many medals and badges including the Combat Infantry Badge, Marksman Badge (Rifle M-16, Rifle M-14), SpS Badge (M-60), National Defense Service Medal, Air Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Combat Infantry Medal before his honorable discharge in January of 1974.
On September 26, 1970, while home on leave, Keith married the love of his life, Janet Adamski, in Conneaut at St. Mary’s Church. Together for almost fifty-six years, they lived in Kingsville, OH where their love grew and became a deep foundation for raising a family.
Following Keith’s discharge from the United States Army, he worked for Premix Inc. in North Kingsville where he was a dedicated employee in the shipping and receiving department for thirty-five years. Retirement did not last long, as he went to work for Ashcraft Industries for nine years, where he found his true passion until his health forced him to retire at the age of 70. Keith served as a volunteer firefighter for nearly fifty years for the Kingsville Volunteer Fire Department, where his father had served as chief in years past. Keith was also a township trustee.
He had a love for the outdoors, doing yardwork, playing golf, fishing with his friends or granddaughters, and coaching Little League softball for his daughter. Keith and Janet spent many wonderful seasons making lasting memories with their family camping at Kenisee Grand River Campground. Most of all, he loved and cherished his time being “Papa” to his two beautiful granddaughters whom he was so proud of.
Keith was a man of integrity with a heart larger than life. Without hesitation, he would help anyone in need expecting nothing in return. Keith was fun-loving, compassionate, positive and witty. A humble, gentle man, as most would say.
He is survived by his wife Janet, daughter Katie (Kent) Wheeler; two granddaughters Annie and Ellie Laugen; sisters Rita (Jim) Wasielewski, Becky (Mark) Phillips and Rhonda (Rudy Jr.) Pryately; three sisters in-law, Juanita (John) Mitchem, Cyndy (Bob) Zee, and Vernie (Rev. John) Sowers; two brothers in-law Ray (Cathy) Adamski, and Mark (Amy) Adamski; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Preceding him are his parents, a twin daughter Lisa Marie in infancy, a brother David Hawn, best friend Bill Wentz, and his mother and father-in-law Ray and Theresa Adamski.
