Everett E. “Gene” Hunter went home to be with the Lord on November 13, 2025, at the age of 90. The oldest of ten children, he was born on May 25, 1935, to Everett and Marceline Bostic Hunter.
Gene spent most of his life in Fayette County. His childhood was spent on a farm north of Glenwood with his parents and grandparents. Years later, his parents farmed south of Bentonville where they raised several acres of tomatoes for various canning factories. In 1950 the family moved to Connersville. Gene went to school during the day and worked nights at Porcelain Steel. He also worked for Rex, the lower Philco Freezer Plant and Roots Blower. He retired after over 35 years from D & M/WCI and then went to work for Johnson Carpet Cleaning for 8 years.
On April 27, 1957, Gene married the love of his life, Shirley Simpson, at the Grand Avenue United Methodist Church. They shared 62 years together prior to her death on July 1, 2019. They were long time members of Calvary Baptist Church. He and Shirley enjoyed their many trips to Branson, Missouri. Gene had a passion for old tractors and old cars, of which he owned several at one time.
Gene’s love and memories will be cherished by his daughter, Jeanna (Mike) Mitchell; sons, Marty (Kim) Hunter and Tom (Sue) McHugh; a brother, Dale (Debbie) Hunter; grandchildren, Chad (fiancé, RaChelle) Mitchell, Brandy (Shawn) Washler and Libby (fiancé, Steve) McHugh: and great grandchildren, Parker Mitchell, Savannah Mitchell, Carson Washler, Dakota Ball, Andrew Alvarado and Cole Alvarado.
In addition to his parents and loving wife, he is preceded in death by an infant daughter, Vickie Jean; brothers, Mike Hunter and Jack Hunter; sisters, Donna Carlton, June Bowling, Carolyn Bowling, Bonita Steele and two infant sisters; brothers-in-law, Tilford Bowling, Granville Bowling, Jack Steele and Dallas Carlton.
Funeral services for Gene will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, 309 W 24th Street, Connersville on Monday November 17, 2025, at 2:00 pm. Family and friends may gather from 12:00 noon until the hour of the service at the church. Gene will be laid to rest next to Shirley at Dale Cemetery.

Randy Joe Bunch Jr. of Connersville passed away unexpectedly on Sunday November 9, 2025 at the age of 55. Randy was commonly known as “Tiger” by those who loved and adored him. He was born on April 2, 1970 in Connersville, the son of Randy Joe Bunch Sr. and the late Carolyn Cole.

Randy was a graduate of Rushville Consolidated High School, the class of 1989. Shortly after graduating Randy enlisted in the United States Army, where he served for 3 years as a Specialist. Randy entered the construction industry after his time in the service. He worked tirelessly for many years becoming an accomplished carpenter.

Tiger had one of the biggest hearts, he made sure that people knew they were loved and cared for by him. He adored spending time with people, especially his family, whether they were having a barbeque pitch-in or playing corn hole as a group. He enjoyed taking the time to relax and travel. He was a huge NASCAR fan, his favorite driver being Jeff Gordon. He was a faithful supporter of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Tiger loved his music, and the louder it was the better. Tiger was the type of man that considered everyone he met as family, he will be sorely missed by all his family.

Randy is survived by his father, Randy Joe Bunch Sr, his sister, Sharon (Kelly) Pitcher, his nieces; Kelsey Rummel, Kirstin (Jake) Powers, Payton (Aries) Rummel and nephews, Clayton Pitcher and Chase Pitcher. He will missed greatly by his childhood friends Doyle Bergen and Shane Ritter, special family members; Renee (Allen) Lephew, Tim (Kelley) Bunch and a special nephew, Dylan (Jessica) Edwards. His memories will live on in his 10 great-nieces and great-nephews and all of his extended family.

In addition to his mother, Carolyn, he is preceded in death by his brother, Keith Bunch, aunt, Tina Fraley and uncle, David Bunch.

Friends and family may visit Urban Winkler Funeral Home located at 513 W 8th Street Connersville, IN 47331, on Monday November 17, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Funeral services will begin at 1:00PM. Burial will follow at Lick Creek Cemetery.

Dale K. Walker, 86 of Liberty passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2025. He was born on November 3, 1939 in Fayette County to Wilbur Walker and Mary Sheplar Walker.
Dale graduated from Short High In 1957.
He married Sue Elaine Gruell on June 9, 1978. They were able to spend 36 years together before she passed away on December 23, 2014.
Dale was a devoted member of Edwards Memorial United Methodist Church.
Dale worked for Union County Co-Op for 45 years before retiring at the age of 65. He was a supporter of the Union County 4H program and would look forward to purchasing an animal from a 4H member at the end of the Union County 4H Fair.
Dale found great joy in the going on trail rides with his horses and mules and camping in the RV. He was a proud and devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather, who rarely missed a chance to cheer from the sidelines. Whether it was a ballgame or a school event, his family could always count on him to be there. He also had a love for bluegrass music. He will be missed by his family and friends, but his love and memories will live on through the stories shared.
Dale is survived by his children, Melissa (Jeff) Moles and Kenneth (Jennifer) Walker; his step children, Paula (Steve) Drew and Jason Parker; his 7 grandchildren, Jared (Alisha) Moles, Miranda (Doug) Gardner, Keaton (Katherine) Walker, Kellen Walker, Kylie (Clayton) Stacey, Dustin (Bekah) Drew, and Holly (Joshua) Bachman ; 7 great grandchildren, Parker, Clark, Grey, Greer, Margaret Cullen, Dean and Lillian; a sister in law, Reba Walker; his special friends, Patricia Gentry, Frank and Kay Parks, Eleanor Coffman and Tim and Sherry Wooley.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sue; brothers, Richard Walker and Norman Walker; and a sister, Bonnie Shephard.
Family and friends may visit on Thursday, November 13, 2025 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Urban Winkler Liberty Funeral Home, 310 N. Main St., Liberty. Loretta Dell Holmes passed away on November 7, 2025, at Caroleton Health Care in Connersville at the age of 93. Loretta was born in Greensburg, IN on December 7, 1931, one of 15 children of the late Elza D. Ruble and Bonnie Glenn Ruble.
She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother. She lived a simple life. She enjoyed working in her flower and vegetable gardens. Her greatest pleasure came from the times she would spend babysitting her grandchildren and spending time with her family. For several years, Loretta worked as a QMA at Lincoln Centers.
Her love and memories will be cherished by her children, Rhonda Duncil, Jim (Debbie) Shannon, Rick (Tina) Shannon and John Shannon; brother, Darrell Ruble; sister, Georgia E. Holmes; sixteen grandchildren; three great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, James Houston Shannon; former husband, James Holmes; eight brothers, Dale, Willis, Ralph, Marvin, Jimmy, Richard, Alvin and David Ruble; sisters Marcella Edith York, Glenna Joann Robinson, Sharon Kay Counceller and Royla Sue Dane.

Anthony “Tony” Rader age 76 of New Salem, IN passed away peacefully at the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis, IN on November 8th, 2025, surrounded by family.

Tony married the love of his life, Sheila Masters, on June 27th, 1971, with whom he enjoyed 54 years of marriage.

He is survived by his brothers Dallas (Anne) Rader, Gary (Pam) Rader, and
Rev. Jerry (Diane) Rader, his two sons, Tony (Brianne) Rader, and Jerry (Carla) Rader, and his
three grandchildren, Katelynn (Dylan) Marlatt, Austin (Lottie) Rader, and Cierra Rader.

He was born on February 25th, 1949, to Dessmon and Beulah Rader, and grew up in
Connersville, IN graduating from Connersville Senior High School in 1967. He was drafted into the US Army in 1969 and served a year overseas in combat in Vietnam with the Americal 4/21st 11th BG as a SP4.

He retired from Print Pak in 2008 but continued to work hard on projects for himself and his family. Tony enjoyed gardening and was especially known for his tomatoes which he shared with everyone. He could frequently be found at car shows and swap meets, fishing, working on his hot rod in his garage, and spending time with his family. He was known for his bright personality and ability to make friends with any stranger. It didn’t take long for him to call you his ‘buddy’.

Tony was a great husband, father, brother, and papaw.

Funeral services will be conducted at Urban Winkler Funeral Home, 513 W 8th Street, Connersville on Thursday November 13, 2025, at 12:00 noon, with Reverend Jerry Rader and assisted by Paster Jeff Hensley. Military honors will follow the service. Friends and family may gather from 10:00 am until the hour of the service. Tony will be laid to rest at East Hill Cemetery Mausoleum in Rushville, IN.

Jewel D. Pinkerton of Liberty passed away on Tuesday November 4, 2025 at Reid Health in Richmond at the age of 79. Jewel was born in Manchester, Kentucky on March 9, 1946, the daughter of Carlyle and Mary Jarvis Cottongim.
Jewel graduated from Richmond High School and went on to attend Anderson Beauty School. On June 25, 1966, she married the love of her life, Thomas Pinkerton in Richmond. They shared 59 years of marriage prior to her death. They were blessed with five children.
She was a member of the Bonner Busy Bees Home Economics Club and a 4-H Leader for the Hopeful Homemakers for many years. She owned and operated the Magic Mirror Beauty Salon for over 40 years and worked in customer service at K-Mart and in medical records at Reid Healthcare. Family was the most important thing to Jewel. She enjoyed watching her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren participating in their sports games and activities, baking, and family gatherings.
Her love and memories will be cherished by her husband, Thomas; daughters, Kim (Scott) Gifford, Krista (Davey) Norris, and Keli (Scott) Wesler; sons, Kevin (Anya) Pinkerton and Keith (Kate) Pinkerton; grandchildren, Kailyn (Patrick) Callari, Tyler (Abby) Pinkerton, Shelby (Matthew Able) Gifford, Taylor (Mason) Hornung, Alexis Pinkerton, Carson Pinkerton, Kinley Wesler, Karley Norris, Kolsen Wesler and Avery Pinkerton; great grandchildren, Cooper Pinkerton, Elle Pinkerton and one on the way.
She will be in the thoughts of her siblings, Mildred (Wheeler) Sparks and Orville Cottongim, as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by three brothers, John “Dub” Cottongim, Golden Cottongim, and Oscar Cottongim.
Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family. Urban Winkler Liberty Funeral Home is honored to assist Jewel’s family with her arrangements.

David Lee Hornung passed away on Sunday morning, November 2, 2025, at the age of 84. David was born on April 2, 1941, in Connersville, the son of Norman and Mary Hedrick Hornung.
He was a 1959 graduate of Connersville High School and went on to take classes at Earlham College. On November 9, 1960, he was united in marriage to the former Charlene Mercier. They have shared 65 years together prior to his death and were blessed with 3 children.
David retired from Roots Blower after 40 plus years. He also farmed for over 20 years and along with his wife, ran the Jessop’s Concession Stand for 11 years. He was a member of Central Christian Church since 1984 and Warren Lodge # 15 F. & A.M. for 45 years, where he had served as Past Master and was a member of the Scottish Rite. David was also a member of the Eastern Star.
David loved to spend time golfing and traveling. His passion was his 1960 Chevy Impala that he restored and displayed at cars shows. He valued the time he spent with his family most.
In addition to his wife, Charlene, his love and memories will be cherished by his daughter, Kimberly K. Carroll; son Brian Hornung; brother, Gary (Carol) Hornung; grandchildren, Lauren (Andrew) Phillips, Andrea (Adam) Manias, Rachel (John) Davis, Jacob (Paige) Hornung, and Joseph (Emily) Carroll; great grandchildren, Ava, Alexander, Amelia, Jude, Lois, Franklin, Eliza, Gideon, Logan, Claire, Henry, Coen, Addison and Alban, as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Steven Hornung, brother Robert K. Hornung and his sister, Delores Ault.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 am at Urban Winkler Funeral Home, 513 W 8th Street, Connersville on Friday November 7, 2025, with Pastor Greg Marvel and dear friend Bill Flannigan, Jr. officiating. Masonic and Eastern Star services will be held at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will be at Dale Cemetery. Friends and family may gather to share memories on Thursday evening from 4:00 to 8:00 pm.

Mary Blaes, formerly of Connersville, passed away on October 27, 2025, in Joplin, Missouri at the age of 78. Mary was born in Connersville, IN on May 9, 1947, the daughter of William James Garner and Desi Mae Fields Garner.
Mary attended Connersville school and was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother that enjoyed making ceramics, collecting jewelry, traveling and going to casinos. Above all, Mary loved the time she spent with her family.
Her love and memories will be cherished by her longtime partner, Tom Stevenin; children, Michael Blaes, Michelle (William) Caldwell and Chad (Amber) Blaes and sisters, Donna (Don) Winget, Brenda Garner and Kathy (Robert) Bishop. She will remain in the memories of her grandchildren, Alicia (Daniel) Jarboe, Christopher Blaes, Andrea (Sebastian) Lucas, Bryan (Brittany McCreary) Oler, Autumn (Ronnie) Baker, Mason (Macaela Faw) Blaes, and Ty Menkhaus; great grandchildren, Carter, Aurora, Avery, Layne and Orin, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Stanley Brock passed away with his family surrounding him in love on October 29, 2025 in West Harrison, Indiana. He was born on October 13, 1948, in Pineville, Kentucky, the of the late Ledford and Viola Brock.
Stanley was united in marriage to the former Phyllis Saylor on October 14, 1967. They had 56 years of marriage together prior to her death in March 2024. They were blessed with a son.
He retired after 20 years of service as a custodian from Talawanda School District. He also had work at D & M and Philco Ford. Stanley’s passion was playing Bluegrass and Gospel music for over 20 years with The Isaacs, Larry Sparks and Jimmy Martin, where he played bass. He enjoyed going to his son’s county music shows and spending time with his family and friends. When his son was younger he enjoyed watching him play sports.
Stanley’s love and memories will be cherished by his son, Joshua (Danni) Brock; brothers, Spurgeon Brock and Elden (Cindy) Brock; sister-in-law Jeanie Brock, as well as several nieces, nephews and close friends.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Clyde, Burtchell, Sterlon, and Gentry and a sister, Jeweldean Brock.

Lesley Teeguarden, age 45 of Liberty, passed away on October 28, 2025. Lesley was born on January 28, 1980, and is the daughter of Charles and Yvonne Tucker. On August 11, 2001, Lesley married John Teeguarden in Liberty. As high school sweethearts, they shared nearly 30 years together and were blessed with two sons, John and Brian.

Lesley had worked for several area nursing homes as a CNA. At home, she loved cooking, sewing, and was an avid reader. She had a special talent and passion for quilting. She had quilted many quilts for many in her family. Her extraordinary work in quilting was appreciated and recognized by many.

Lesley will be greatly missed by her husband, John; two sons, John David Teeguarden and Brian Robert Teeguarden; her mother, Yvonne Tucker; sister, Kristi Tucker; brother in law, Joey (Julia) Teeguarden; sister in law, Amber (Scott) Rader; and father/mother in law, Robert and Linda Teeguarden; as well as 4 neices and a nephew.

Lesley is preceded in death by her father, Charles Tucker.

Visitation for Lesley will be held at Urban Winkler Liberty Funeral Home, 310 N. Main St. Liberty, IN 47353, on Monday, November 3, 2025 from 10:00am until 12:00pm. The funeral service will immediately follow at 12:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Richland Cemetery.

Elizabeth “Beth” Moore, 55, of Liberty, passed away on October 28, 2025. She was born on March 12, 1970, and is the daughter of the late Buddy and Karen Carrell. Beth was united in marriage to John Moore in Manchester, KY on May 20, 1987. They were blessed with 36 years of marriage and three children before he passed away on June 30, 2023.
Beth had worked for J and J packaging and Miami University. More importantly, was her family. From hanging out together on the property and having bonfires with everyone, Beth wanted to be with her family. In her earlier years, she found great joy in reading.
Anyone who met Beth knew she had a loving and caring heart. She was loved by all family and friends who met her.
Beth will be greatly missed by her children, Joshua James John Moore, and Karen Marie Moore, and Emily Ann Moore; three brothers, Gordan Carrell, Dennis (Debra) Carrell, and David Carrell; her dog that she loved like a child, Molly; and her grandson, Liam Douglas.
Beth was preceded in death her parents and her husband, John.
In honoring Beth’s wishes, a private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
