Whitley Reece Presley Jameson was born sleeping on May 20, 2026. Whitley was the deeply loved and treasured baby girl of Sarah E. Coyle and Dustin Jameson.
Although her time with us on earth was short, Whitley will live on in the memory of those who were excited to make memories with her; including her big brothers; Tripton Tanner Brown and Brody Christopher Jameson, her maternal grandmothers, Ladeana (Jeff) Summey and Great-Aunt Donna Feeback, her paternal grandmothers, Salina Jameson and Patricia Cole. She will forever be cherished by her beloved aunts and uncles; Chelsea (Michael) Paxson, Seth Coyle, Clay (Miranda) Coyle, Dylan Jameson, Drey Jameson and her Godmother, Tammy Boyer.
Whitley was welcomed into eternity by her maternal grandfathers, Steven C. Coyle, Great-Uncle Russ Feeback and her paternal grandfather, Chris Cole.

Janet Offutt of Connersville passed away on Thursday May 21, 2026, at Heritage House Rehabilitation at the age of 94. Janet was born in Falmouth, Fayette County, Indiana on January 26, 1932, the daughter of the late Harry Alfred McClain and Margaret Lenore Watler McClain.
In Jellico, Tennessee on May 27, 1967, she was united in marriage to William Ray Offutt. They share 39 years of marriage prior to his death on August 12, 2006.
Janet was a 30-year member of the Red Cross Organization from 1958 to 1988. She served as Disaster Chairman, Chapter Chairman, and Zone Liaison. Janet was also a member of the Connersville Lioness Club. She and Ray owned and operated Ray Offutt Sales where she oversaw running the office. She also worked at Taylor Drugstore, Erb Lumber and Daum’s Dairy Mart.
Bingo was a cherished activity that Janet enjoyed. She also enjoyed working on jigsaw puzzles and crossword puzzles. Above all and most importantly, she cherished the time she spent with her family.
Surviving to cherish and remember Janet are her daughters, Tamara J. (John) Hurst and Amy (Scott) Baker; sons, Gary Richard (Anna Marie) Pea and Danny Wayne (Jill) Pea; step daughters, Dana (Bob) Kemker and Terri Wilcox; a daughter-in-law, Debbie Pea; 16 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and her special friend, Helen Purcell.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Vicky Lynn Pea; son, Darrell Eugene Pea; sisters, Sondra Harris and Marilyn Lopeman; a grandson, Cody Pea and a great grandson.
Friends and family may gather on Wednesday May 27, 2026, at Urban Winkler Funeral Home, from 12:00 noon until 1:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Lick Creek Cemetery.

Phyllis Fox, 78 of Connersville passed away on Friday, May 15, 2026. She was born on July 28, 1947, in Connersville to Charles Fox and Lucy Lucas Fox.
Phyllis was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and had attended Connersville Baptist Temple.
She had worked at Wal Mart and was a volunteer at St. Gabriels.
You could often find Phyllis at the Spartan Bowl watching the Connersville Spartan Boys Basketball team or watching the San Antonio Spurs on the television. She was an avid sports fan. Phyllis adored the Connersville EMT team and the Connersville Firefighters.
Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Susan (Eric) Ramey; the father of her daughter, David Case; a special cousin, Eric Frank, along with many other cousins; special friends, John and Sherry Harmon and Gayla Stottlemire.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Larry Fox; her sister, Barbara Fox; and special friends, Chelsea and Kaz Harmon and Kellie Ann Harrison Ramey.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at 11:00 am at Maple Grove Cemetery in Brookville, Indiana.

Wilma Cooper, 86 of Liberty, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2026. She was born on August 24, 1939, in Connersville to Robert Worster and Esther Worster.
Wilma was a member of Cornerstone Community Church in Liberty. She was also a member of the Eastern Star Connersville chapter.
At the age of 52 she decided to go back to school and obtain her associate’s degree in nursing. For many years she faithfully served as an LPN at nursing homes in the surrounding area, most recently in Oxford. She dedicated her life to caring for others, her gentle spirit, warm heart and wonderful sense of humor brought comfort, joy and laughter to countless residents and coworkers throughout the years. Nursing was more than a profession for her, it was her calling, and she treated each patient with kindness and compassion.
She found great happiness in the simple pleasures of life. She had a true talent and love for quilting, carefully stitching together beautiful quilts that became treasured gifts for every member of her family. She also enjoyed tending to her flowers, spending time outdoors and admiring their beauty. She was an avid reader. One of her favorite things was gathering with her card group at Southview, where friendships, laughter and countless memories were shared over the years.
Above all her family meant everything to her. She cherished every moment spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren; she always offered encouragement, wisdom, laughter and unconditional love.
Wilma is survived by her children, Robert Joseph (Linda) Teeguarden, Brenda (Kyle) Fohl and Kathy (Robert) Burkhead; 7 grandchildren, John, Joey, Amber, Jeffrey, Evan, Keith and Alisha; 14 great grandchildren; many adopted grandchildren she called her own; her beloved dog and cat, Abner and Dashboard; her best friend, Inez; and many friends at Southview.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Teeguarden; her son, Glenn Teeguarden; her siblings, Alice Bunch, Ernest Worster, Frances Barnes, Beatrice Worster and Glenn Worster.
Friends and family may visit on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Urban Winkler Liberty Funeral Home, 310 N. Main St., Liberty, Indiana 47353. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm with Pastor Dana Hadden of Cornerstone Community Church officiating. Burial will follow in West Point Cemetery.

Betty Ann Seibert passed way on Sunday May 17, 2026 at Hospice of Cincinnati at Christ Hospital at the age of 70. Betty was born on June 22, 1955 in Richmond, IN, the daughter of the late Robert Jewell Sr. and Mable Smith Jewell.
She is a 1973 graduate of Union County High School. On August 25, 1973, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Richard K. Seibert, at the Bath United Methodist Church. They shared close to 53 years of marriage prior to her death. Together, they created a loving family of four.
Betty retired after 32 years of service from the LCNB in Oxford where she was a Branch Manager. She was a former member of the Kiwanis in Oxford. When not working or cheering her grandchildren on from the sidelines of their activities, you could find Betty working on one of her many crafting projects. She enjoyed making flower arrangements and Christmas ornaments. Most importantly, Betty wanted to spend time with her family.
Her love and memories will be held close to the heart of her husband, Richard; her children, Amanda (Jeremy) Elleman and Jeremy (Amanda) Seibert; grandchildren, Samantha (Tristan) Gayhart, Dakota (Grace) Elleman, Ty Elleman, Keiler (Kayla Campbell) Shockley, Mason Martin, Dawson Martin, and Elijah Martin; great grandchildren, Jay Elleman, and two great granddaughter that will arrive this fall; a brother, Richard (Ida) Jewell and a sister-in-law Phyllis Jewell, as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Robert Jewell, Jr., a sister Barbara Benge, and a nephew, Jim Benge.

Francis E. Chomel passed away at The Springs in Richmond, IN on May 13, 2026, at the age of 96. Fran was born in Connersville, IN on June 17, 1929, the son of Charles Walter and Anna Carl Chomel.
Fran graduated from Connersville High School in the Class of 1947. He served in the United States Army Reserve for six years where he rose through the ranks to Sergeant.
He was a devoted member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church where he was on the liturgy committee and served as a lector and Eucharistic minister. He hand-scheduled the people before the church had a computer that is used today. Fran also served on several other committees.
He served on the Fayette County Senior Center Board of Directors for several years, served as a Councilman At Large on the Connersville City Council, as well as the Finance Committee, and Tax Abatement Committee. Starting from 1978 to his retirement in 1996, he worked for the City of Connersville as a police dispatcher where he helped implement the E-911 system in 1994.
Fran started his career in Broadcasting in 1952 at WCNB Radio in Connersville. Through his employment at the station, he began operating as sports announcer in the 1960’s and 1970’s for the Connersville Spartan Football and Spartan Basketball games. Fran was especially proud to be the announcer for the 1972 State Basketball Championship game at Assembly Hall. After taking a break from high school sports, Fran returned to the radio in the 1990’s and 2000’s to cover the Spartan athletics.
Fran’s legacy is deeply rooted in his contributions to sports broadcasting. He served as the voice of Spartan Sports on Connersville TV3 from 2009 through 2021 where he hosted the weekly Spartan Sports Report. His commitment to Connersville High School Athletics extended over 50 years. Generations of athletes and listeners grew up hearing his voice calling the games will always remember him as “The Voice of Spartan Sports”
He is survived by nieces and nephews, Judith Yount, Kathy Eggermann, Sandra Augustin Dehner, Angela Higgins, Michael Chomel, and Kirk Chomel, as well as many friends and extended family.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Ann Bogue, Lola Clarke and Mary Mackey; brothers, Donnie Chomel, Dale Chomel, Robert Chomel, and Thomas Chomel.

Lucile Steele, 92 of Laurel went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 16, 2026. She was born on December 12, 1933 in Booneville, Kentucky to Edward Gay and Jessie Barrett Gay.
She married David W. Steele on October 10, 1952. Together they were blessed with 4 children.
Lucile was a strong and very caring women. She loved her family and was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was blessed that her grandson, Mitchell Steele, was able to live with her and help her for the last few years. All though she had help she still was the same independent women until the day she was called home.
In the 1960s she was an Avon lady. For 27 years she worked at Knauf Fiberglass in QA before retiring in 1996. After retirement she enjoyed traveling some and attending Bluegrass shows with her friends and family.
She is survived by her 2 daughters, Darlene Steele and Daphne (Mike Durham) Lewis; her grandchildren, John (Jennifer) Lewis, Dewey (Haley) Lewis, Joseph Steele, Benita (Jerry) Hedrick, Wesley Allen, Tiffany Steele and Bobby Steele; 21 great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren; her siblings, Henrietta Allen, Rebecca Wilson and Naomi (Scott) Faulkner; and many many nieces and nephews and 3 sister in laws.
Lucile was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 43 years; her 2 sons, David (Keith) Steele and Daryl W. Steele; 4 grandchildren, Daryl W. Steele Jr., Heather Steele, Amanda L. Lewis and Felinda D. Lewis; 3 great grandchildren, Ethan U. Williams, Elysium U. Lewis and KyLee Z. Mosier; and her siblings, Juanita Flannery, Belle Wright, Edward Gay Jr., and brother in law, Daniel Allen.
Visitation for Lucile will be held on Friday, May 22, 2026, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Urban Winkler Funeral Home, 513 W. 8th St., Connersville. A family-lead service will begin at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Laurel North Cemetery.

Sharon Adams, 82, of Brownsville went home to hug Jesus on Friday, May 15, 2026. She was born on October 29, 1943 in Connersville to Grant Jones and Kamilla Bills Jones.
On September 24, 1961 she married Bill Adams, they were able to spend 36 years together before he passed away on April 8, 1997.
Sharon centered her life around raising her children and was a devoted homemaker. She found happiness in the outdoors and could often be found working in the dirt, pulling weeds, planting a garden or simply enjoying the beauty of God’s creation. Creative at heart, she enjoyed painting, drawing, beading and expressing herself through art and handmade creations. She also loved to fish, dance and spend time doing the things that brought her joy and to others.
She deeply loved Jesus and carried her faith with her daily. She also held a special appreciation for all things Indigenous and admired the culture, traditions, and spiritual connection to nature they represented.
One of her proudest joys was sponsoring a wolf named Shinaqua at the Wolf Creek Habitat, a reflection of her lifelong love for animals and wildfire. Whether caring for animals, tending to flowers, or simply listening to the sounds of nature around her, she lived with a heart full of wonder and kindness. Her memory will continue to bloom in every garden, echo in every garden, echo in every bird song and live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
Sharon is survived by her daughter, Sandra (Donald) Roszell, a son, Steven (Mary) Adams; 7 grandchildren, Nicole (Branigan) Pate, Chris (Rachel) Purcell, Heather (Mike) Bath, Grant (Amanda) Adams, Richard (Ashley) Funk II, Levi (Maddie) Adams and Hailey (Zach) Cooper; several great grandchildren, and one great great granddaughter; daughter in law, Rosie Adams; and lifelong friend, Cheryl Riley.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Scott Adams, lifelong friend who was like a sister, Anna Bolin.

Joseph F. Ference, Jr. of Connersville passed away on May 15, 2026, while a patient of Ried Health in Richmond at the age of 76. Joseph was born in Trenton, New Jersey on December 2, 1949, the son of Joseph Frank Ference, Sr. and Florence Turburt Ference.
He served in the United States Army for 15 years from 1967 to 1982 where he was stationed in Vietnam and Germany and served in the Army Reserve from 1982 to 1888. He was an tactical transportation helicopter mechanic and a combat engineer.
After his honorable discharge he worked in security at Pilkington in Shelbyville, and Roots Blower in Connersville. He also worked at Randall-Textron in Morristown. While not working, you could find Joseph playing on his computer or watching his favorite shows on TV. Above all, and most importantly, he loved spending time with his family.
On June 20, 1970, in Clarksville, Tennessee, he was united in marriage to the former Janet Marie Ritter. They shared nearly 56 years of marriage prior to his death. Together they created a loving family of four, blessed with two sons.
Along with is wife, he is survived by a son, Jeffrey (Tammey) Ference; grandchildren, Tyler Ference, Bryson Ference, Hendrix Ference Davidson, Jennifer (Terrell) Burton, Chelsea Ference and Jessica Ference; great grandchildren, Zoey, Nayla, Luna, and Liam, as well as his brothers, Lewis (Joanie) Ference and William (Jennifer) Ference.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, James Ference who passed in 2017.

Sarah Elizabeth Counceller, 34, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 11, 2026. She was born on September 14, 1991 in Connersville to Joseph Counceller and Michelle Pierce Counceller.
Sarah graduated from Connersville Senior High School in 2010.
In her younger years she worked at Showtime Cinema Movie Theater. She then dedicated her life to waitressing and Home Health care, a career that reflected her caring and selfless heart. Through her work, she formed a bond with Linda and Bobby Crabtree, who became her family. After the passing of Linda, Bobby lovingly kept his promise to always look after Sarah, a testament to the deep friendship they have shared over the years.
In Sarah’s younger years she was a talented gymnast who proudly competed all over the State, earning several medals and awards for her talents.
She had an artistic soul and found beauty in the simple things around her. She loved the outdoors, fishing and collecting rocks. You could often find her caring for her chickens and rescuing or saving every animal she could. She loved taking pictures and was always proud to show you what she took. Above all else, she was a mother who loved and cherished her boys, she enjoyed spending time with them whether that be outside riding bikes, playing sports or just sitting with them at home. Those who knew Sarah will remember her for her kind spirit, loving nature, her creativity and the way she made you feel welcomed and cared for. As they say, “She had a heart that loved everyone.”
Sarah is survived by her sons, Jaxon Cooper Seale and Jonah Lee Counceller; her mother, Michelle Pierce Counceller; her sister, Desirae (Michael) McGuire; her brother, Connor (Taylor) Counceller; nephew and niece, Hayden McGuire and Ava Grace; maternal grandma, Sally Dubois; maternal grandparents, Steve (Carmen) Pierce; maternal grandpa, James Dubois; aunts and uncles, Robbie Pierce, Brent Pierce, Stephanie Pierce, Rhonda Persinger, Kendra Hurley and Jennifer Counceller; special cousins, Taylor, Chance and Seth and several other cousins; special friend, Bobby Crabtree; and many friends.
Sarah was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Counceller; paternal grandparents, Charles and Sharon Counceller; uncles, Bryon Pierce, Charles (Chuckie) Counceller, Jeff Counceller and Terry David Counceller; special friend, Linda Crabtree; and special dog, Sammi Jo; and her namesake grandmother, Sarah Lloyd.

While resting peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, the Angels of the Lord escorted Sophia E. Schoonover to Glory. Sophia was born on March 8, 1938, in Manchester, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Reverend Clay J. and Mandy Hacker Byrd.
On August 26, 1957, in Rockville, IN, she was united in marriage to Walter F. Schoonover. They shared 44 years of marriage prior to his death in November 2001. Together they created a loving family of four children.
Sophia was a member of Pentecostal Tabernacle Church. Faith was an important part of her life, providing her with comfort and guiding her actions. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother that enjoyed fishing, sewing, canning vegetables from her garden, working in her flower gardens and oil painting. Family was important to Sophia, and she valued the time spent with them.
She had worked as a dietary cook at Margaret Mary Hospital in Batesville and at Sherman Public Schools in Sherman, Texas. She also drove a transit bus fo r Connersville Senior Center.
Her legacy will live on through her children, Ruth (Jim) Baldwin and Mary (Leroy) Russell; grandchildren, James (Jim Williams) Baldwin, Jr., Shasta Fay (John) Reece, Francis William (Tara) Russell, Clayton (Candance) Russell, Tasha McDonald, and Velviena (Bill Wesley) Anderson; great grandchildren, Faith Reece, Destinee Reece, Karlie Reece, Joe (Katona Chapman) McDonald, Jon (Haisley Helms) McDonald, Kensie (Tyler) Weller, Kennadie Anderson, Cecilia (Michael Purtee) Russell, Wyatt Russell, Ellie Russell, Liam Russell, Gracie Russell, Beau Russell and Emma Ruf. She is also survived by a brother Maynard Byrd; a sister, Mae Margaret Nezbitt, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was welcomed into Heaven by her parents, stepmother, Grovy Byrd, husband; her children, Versa Marie and James Dean Schoonover; brothers, Clayton Byrd, Tilmon Hacker, Charles Byrd and Clarence Byrd and sisters, Gerta Lee Turner and Julie Roberts.
Friends and family may gather on Monday evening May 18, 2026 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Pentecostal Tabernacle Church, 1892 West State Road 44, Connersville. Funeral services conducted by Pastor Ronald Russell will take place at the church on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at 11:00 am. Sophia will be laid to rest at Dale Cemetery.
