🧸 Supporting Children’s Emotional Safety During and After a Disaster

Children often feel the emotional impact of a disaster just as deeply as adults but they may not always know how to express it. 💬💔

Here are a few simple ways to support a child’s emotional safety:
🔹 Reassure them that they’re safe
🔹 Keep routines as normal as possible
🔹 Allow them to ask questions and express feelings
🔹 Be honest but age-appropriate
🔹 Limit media exposure

As our Crisis Counseling Program comes to a close on July 31st, we want to thank you for being part of this journey with us. 💛

Though this program is ending, Tri-County will continue to provide support for children, youth, adults, and families through a wide range of services from counseling to IDD and SUD care.

📞 Need support? Reach out anytime through our website, call our 24/7 crisis line, or contact our routine services line. You are not alone.
