Here at The Wellington at Conroe, we believe that a safe community is a happy community! That’s why every month, our Maintenance Director has a portion of our residents gather for a Safety Meeting to stay sharp, informed, and ready for anything.

Ducktona: The Wellington Edition
Start your engines... or in this case, your ducks! 🏁
We hosted our very own Ducktona showdown, and the excitement was quacking off the charts! After some intense splashing and paddling, it all came down to a race-off between our top two competitors—and boy, was it a photo finish! 🏆
Our residents cheered, laughed, and flocked to the action as the fastest ducks in the community battled for ultimate bragging rights. It’s safe to say—we’re already counting down to the next race. 💛

Anna often dreamed of returning to her homeland of Germany. The Good Tree team saw how deeply she was connected to her German roots, so they decided to bring a piece of Germany to her. They prepared goulash and other traditional German dishes, creating a festive atmosphere filled with warmth and nostalgia. Residents and staff gathered to celebrate Anna’s heritage, sharing stories and learning more about German customs.

With barbeques, music, memory walks, and vibrant purple celebrations, every moment paid tribute to those impacted by Alzheimer’s and highlighted the strength of human connection.

Autumn Glen celebrated the 70th wedding anniversary of Bill and Mary Lou this week. Surrounded by friends and family, the couple reflected on decades of memories through cherished photos and enjoyed a celebratory cake and a beautiful flower arrangement to honor the occasion. It was a big week for Billy, a resident of The Waterford at Mesquite. In honor of Father’s Day, the local mayor visited the community to recognize Billy as the oldest father living in Mesquite! Just a few days later, Billy celebrated his 100th birthday surrounded by family and friends. The celebration was filled with laughter and plenty of birthday cake. Billy’s milestone serves as an inspiration to everyone in the community.

John, a Magnolia Trails resident at Georgetowne Place, grew up on a farm and spent his childhood driving tractors and milking cows. He often shared these fond memories, so the team knew exactly what would make the perfect Tree of Dreams by bringing him back to the farm! With his daughter and great-grandson in tow, John was thrilled to see how things have changed and deeply grateful for the experience. Great job, team!

Our residents cooled off in the sweetest way with a Lemonade Social that was anything but ordinary! We served up both classic and strawberry lemonade, but the real fun came with the flavor bar—featuring mango, raspberry, and peach syrups for a personal twist in every glass.

Coffee, Cars & Community — A Wheel-y Great Time!

Today we revved up the fun with our early Father’s Day celebration — Coffee, Cars, and Community — and it was a total classic! 💙

Thanks to the fabulous folks from the 105 Cruisers, our community was transformed into a vintage dreamland filled with chrome, horsepower, and stories that go the distance. From shiny hoods to heartfelt memories, residents lit up as they reminisced about the cars they once drove—or rode shotgun in with someone special.

And let’s talk about the real showstopper… the cardboard cutout VW bug photo prop! It may not have had an engine, but it definitely drove up the fun. A few brave souls even “bugged out” for photos inside — talk about a "car-toon" classic! 📸 Not only that but it was created by our wonderful activity director and amazing residents.

We had a fuel-tastic time and can’t wait to park the fun back here again soon! Until next time — keep cruisin’ and choosing joy!

The Waterford at Round Rock worked with resident Becky’s daughter to give her the surprise of a lifetime by restoring their family car, a 1965 Ford Mustang. Filled with memories of family vacations and drives with her late husband, Becky’s eyes filled with tears. The moment she saw the fully restored Mustang, she was overcome with emotion and gratitude. What a beautiful gift and a reminder of cherished memories!
