Hey Crawfish Critics family,
I need to pause and give a HUGE, heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who has donated, shared, prayed, and shown love through this situation. Y’all have truly reminded me what community looks like.
But first… I have to give major credit where it is due…
Ebony Jackson and her group, The Place of Safety: A Safe Haven for Domestic Violence Victims, have been working tirelessly behind the scenes and doing what so many people talk about doing, but never actually do.
Ebony has been a real-life warrior. When a mother fleeing domestic violence reached out to her, Ebony didn’t hesitate. She stepped in immediately, moved with wisdom and discretion, and put safety first — because this situation is literally life or death.
Because of Ebony’s leadership, compassion, and because of YOU Crawfish Critics family… this brave mom and her three children are SAFE.
Food was covered. And THANK GOD the hotel room is now secured through Monday!
She is currently in a very small town with limited resources, and she’s working to relocate where she’ll have access to more support and resources.
Right now, they’re also trying to help her get her RV fixed so it can be their temporary home. Donations are going toward essentials like a refrigerator and a small air fryer/oven so she can begin rebuilding her life with stability.
She also needs dental help, as her dentures were destroyed during the altercation.
This isn’t just “help”…
This is restoration.
This is survival turning into stability.
This is fear turning into freedom.
And yes — I promised 2 AYCE tickets to the first 5 people who matched my donation…but this is about more than tickets.
This is about what happens when a community decides to stand up and say,
“Not on our watch.”
This is what Crawfish Critics is really about. We’re not just here to eat good — we’re here to love big and show up when it matters.
So to Ebony Jackson and The Place of Safety… THANK YOU for being the vessel. Thank you for protecting women and children. Thank you for being brave enough to do the work most people run from.
And to everyone who donated, shared, prayed, and encouraged — thank you. You are part of this woman’s story now. You helped give her children another day of peace.
If you’re able to donate, here are the ways to give:

From the bottom of my heart…THANK YOU.
