Rooted Radical Birth

These words resonate with me so deeply as I navigate the decision of who will attend my upcoming birth.

I have come to realize that I don't NEED anyone there. My body was made to create and birth my baby and I can feel that intuition so deeply within myself.

I may, however, WANT someone to be there to support me. I will, of course, have my loving, strong, caring, and capable husband with me, but what about a wise woman? A sister? A woman who has experienced or witnessed wild birth and knows that I do not NEED her presence, her experience, nor her hands in order to birth, but I may desire her sisterhood during this transformative time.

This is the essence of radical birth keeping.

Take a moment today to stop and hold your baby. Whether he or she is in your arms or in your womb. Stop. Be still. Breathe. Ground yourself and your baby for just a moment and see if the world seems a little brighter, softer, warmer, slower, more intentional after you've taken the time for yourself to become all of those things.
Stop.
Be still.
Listen.
Breathe.

This is my absolute favorite freebirth video. Mama goes from "I can't do this" to "I got this" and is in complete control of her birth.
She follows her body's intuition and gets into a hands and knees position to birth her baby's shoulders (while telling dad to pull her out and then yelling at him when he does what she asks 😂 )
