🗣️ When Will They Talk?
✨ A helpful guide by our speech therapist, Brooklyn Hargrove, SLP

Mrs. Brooklyn says:
"I get asked this question often. Here is a very BASIC outline of typical speech development from birth to 3 years."

👶 From vowel sounds to full sentences, this easy chart breaks it down year by year so you know what’s typically expected as your little one grows.

She also reminds us:
"When in doubt, test it out! If you are worried, let your pediatrician know and request an SLP referral for testing. It’s better to get evaluated and not need therapy than to delay treatment when they truly need it. Early intervention is key!"

Happy Birthday to our Erica Kennemer!! 💛

I asked the Therapy Monkey and HorsePlay Therapy teams to send me 3 words to describe her… and almost everyone said the same thing: “How do we pick only three??” 😂

But here’s what kept coming up:

Hard-working. Intelligent. Funny.
Gentle. Approachable. The real deal.

Basically, she’s all the best things wrapped into one human. The kind of person who makes you feel seen, supported, and encouraged. The kind of person who gives her whole heart to everything she does, especially the kids and families we serve.

Do you know what we love? Introducing new team members to our crew—especially when they’re as wonderful as Debo! 💜

Please help us welcome Deborah “Debo”, COTA, to the Therapy Monkey family! Debo has already made such a fun impact at the clinic. From her upbeat attitude to her spontaneous backflips 🤸‍♀️, she keeps our kids smiling, engaged, and always having fun!

A few fun facts about Debo:
🧠 She was class president of the OTA program at Arkansas Tech—a true leader from the start!
🏃‍♀️ She ran track and cheered in college—and yes, she can still flip!
🗺 She loves to travel with her family. Her most unforgettable trip? Yellowstone—and she’s already planning to go back!
🧡 Her heart is in pediatrics:
“I love connecting with kids who need a little extra support and helping them reach their goals. The best part is, we have fun while doing it. Through play and laughter, they’re achieving so much—and I get to be part of that journey.”
