We are conducting a study is to gain deeper insight into the factors that shape students’ decisions to pursue or avoid mental health support on campus. We’ll be using a creative method called photovoice, where participants take photos and share their perspectives in a short interview.
What’s Involved?
Take 2 photos based on prompts. Photos should not include pictures of any humans faces.
Share your thoughts in a short interview
Your voice matters!

Here is a typical day in the life of the Director of CAPS. We are grateful for the work we do everyday from collaborating with campus partners on mental health initiatives, seeing clients, middle of day exercise with EXSS 415, completing paperwork, supervising interns and finding moments of mindfulness in between the hustle. As we wrap up the semester, we remember “joy is not in things; it is in us” (Richard Wagner).

1️⃣ Set Boundaries Early Talk about your schedule—study time, social time, rest. Respect theirs too.

2️⃣ Share Responsibilities Help with chores or errands. It shows appreciation and keeps harmony.

3️⃣ Quality Time Matters Plan a movie night, cook together, or go for a walk. Small moments count.

4️⃣ Communicate Openly If something feels off, speak up kindly. Misunderstandings shrink when you talk.

5️⃣ Balance Independence & Togetherness Enjoy your freedom, but remember family time is precious too.
