🏡 Back home for break? Here’s how to make it smoother for you and your family:

1️⃣ Set Boundaries Early Talk about your schedule—study time, social time, rest. Respect theirs too.

2️⃣ Share Responsibilities Help with chores or errands. It shows appreciation and keeps harmony.

3️⃣ Quality Time Matters Plan a movie night, cook together, or go for a walk. Small moments count.

4️⃣ Communicate Openly If something feels off, speak up kindly. Misunderstandings shrink when you talk.

5️⃣ Balance Independence & Togetherness Enjoy your freedom, but remember family time is precious too.

💡 Remember: home is your recharge zone, not just a pit stop.

This season isn’t just about sharing food - it’s about sharing support, kindness, and community.
On Friendsgiving night, we’ll gather around the table not only with our favorite dishes, but with the reminder that we’re stronger together. Whether it’s offering a listening ear, lending a hand, or simply showing up, every act of care helps build the Chanticleer family we’re proud of. 🦃
Bring your favorite dish and your spirit of generosity. Let’s celebrate the ways we can uplift one another - because community is built one plate, one laugh, and one act of support at a time.

Ubuntu is an ancient African philosophy meaning “humanity toward others.” It reflects the belief that “I am who I am because of who we all are.” The purpose of this organization is to foster a sense of belonging and connection among students, helping them feel part of something greater than themselves. Members meet biweekly to engage in activities that promote personal growth and community through creative expressions of physical, emotional, and social well-being. Our mission is to cultivate a warm, supportive community where everyone can thrive and feel their best.

A simple “Hey, remember when…” can go a long way.

Reaching out to old classmates isn’t just about reminiscing - it’s about reigniting a sense of belonging. Those shared moments, inside jokes, and late-night study sessions built more than memories - they built community.

📸 Reconnect over a throwback photo.
📞 Send that message you’ve been meaning to.
🤝 Rekindle the bonds that shaped your journey.

You’re still part of something bigger. And sometimes, all it takes is one conversation to feel it again.

Community care starts with YOU.

When students take time to care for themselves - by exploring hobbies they love, getting enough sleep, and finding ways to get moving - they’re not just nurturing their own well-being. They’re building a culture of care that ripples outward.

✨ A rested mind is more present.
🎨 A creative spirit inspires others.
🏃 A body in motion energizes the whole community.

Self-care isn’t selfish—it’s foundational. Let’s keep showing up for ourselves and each other. 💛

When faculty and staff honor the line between work and personal life, they’re not just protecting their own well-being - they’re modeling sustainable care for others.

📅 Logging off on time.
🧘 Prioritizing rest and renewal.
💬 Saying “no” when capacity is full.

These choices aren’t signs of disengagement—they’re acts of integrity. Boundaries create space for empathy, energy, and excellence.

Let’s lead by example.

At Coastal Carolina University, support isn't just a word — it's a movement.

Whether you're looking to be a better ally, support mental health, or create inclusive spaces, CCU offers powerful tools to help you show up for others:

Safe Zone & Green Zone Training Learn how to support each other and military-affiliated students with empathy and understanding.

Mental Health First Aid Gain the skills to recognize signs of mental distress and respond with care — because early support can make all the difference.

Be There Certificate A digital training, available on the TimelyCare app that teaches you how to truly "be there" for someone going through a tough time. It's simple, impactful, and free.

Green Bandana Project Wear the bandana, start the conversation. This student-led initiative signals you're a safe person to talk to about mental health.

These programs aren't just badges — they're commitments to compassion, awareness, and action.

When parents speak openly about their feelings - whether it's joy, stress, sadness, or hope - they're not just expressing themselves… they're modeling emotional safety.

Children and students learn that it's okay to feel, okay to share, and okay to be vulnerable. Your words become their permission slip to be human.

So the next time you're tempted to hide your emotions, remember: your honesty might be the very thing that helps a child feel safe enough to open up too.
