🌟 The Children's Clinic of Conway and Greenbrier will be open for in-person appointments this afternoon in Conway only. We will be scheduling starting at 1:30 for sick only appointments. Throughout the day if there are changes to this schedule we will announce them over Facebook.

We will be monitoring road conditions for tomorrow and are hoping to open both locations. Again, we will announce the plan tomorrow morning!

Please drive safely if you go out on the roads! If you are going to our Conway location, please park in the spots closest to College Avenue (as opposed to the spots near the building) and walk with caution when entering or leaving the clinic. 🩺🥼

☃️ The Children's Clinic of Conway and Greenbrier will be closed today (Monday, Jan 26) due to inclement weather. Our telemedicine clinic will be available this afternoon starting at 1PM.

📲 Beginning at 8AM you may call and schedule an appointment with our provider for any medical questions or concerns!

☃️ Due to inclement weather, The Children's Clinic is anticipating being closed tomorrow morning and may need to close earlier than usual this afternoon. If your child needs same-day pediatric care, please contact the clinic this morning!

We are also anticipating significant clinic closures and schedule adjustments next week. We will keep our page updated. We do intend on having a virtual clinic option for those days where the clinic will be closed all day! 💫

Whooping cough, also known as pertussis, is a highly contagious respiratory illness that is increasing across Arkansas, with pediatric patients accounting for a significant portion of reported cases. The infection spreads easily through coughing and close contact, often before symptoms become severe, which makes early awareness and prevention especially important for families in our community.

Symptoms may begin mildly and can resemble a common cold. A runny nose, low grade fever, or mild cough may gradually progress into intense coughing spells that can last for weeks. Some children experience vomiting after coughing or difficulty catching their breath. Infants are at the highest risk and may not cough at all. Instead, they may have trouble breathing or feeding, which can quickly become serious.

Pertussis is caused by the bacteria Bordetella pertussis and can spread rapidly when vaccination coverage declines. While whooping cough is treatable with antibiotics, early diagnosis is critical to reducing illness severity and limiting transmission. Staying up to date on recommended vaccinations remains the most effective way to protect children and safeguard vulnerable infants.
