Conway, you showed up!
We had our LARGEST VOLUNTEER TRAINING to date! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

From return volunteers to brand new ones to therapists in training at Therapy Monkey, our class went over safety, carried out mock sessions, and spent time to remember the heart of why we do what we do at HorsePlay Therapy. We sent our friends home with some yummy snacks and goodie bags, but can't express enough how grateful we are for each one of them!

HUGE thank you to Elite Equine Conditioning for your support, and to Horse Power Equine Rehab and Fitness for hosting at your beautiful facility. This is going to be an incredible year!

He already knows…

It’s March, which means HorsePlay is starting back up and we’ll have kids back on our horses SOON! 🥹

The wishlist is live, and we need a little help getting the barn ready.

A super fun way to work toward therapy goals.

Obstacle courses don’t build themselves and we need them for successful therapy sessions!

One small win. One big nervous system shift.

This young man celebrated enormous success in just one session. Struggling with tone, his tight muscles made it difficult to walk.

Remove painful stretching in the gym...maybe 3 sets, 10 reps?

Instead, think:
🔹slow, rhythmic movement sends his brain signals to relax
🔹gentle, passive stretch while he straddles the horse lengthens muscles
🔹warmth transferring from the horse to him further relaxes his tight muscles
🔹his body "borrows" and learns mature walking pattern from the horse walking
🔹x30 minutes and 3000 strides

What a difference just 30 minutes can make!

Behind the scenes, it takes a lot before a session even begins.

Volunteer training, horse trailering, coordinating therapists' schedule, facility booking, preparing therapy materials, safety checks, horse desensitizing and conditioning, just to start!

So many helping hands make our program possible, keeping all the parts moving smoothly!
