We’re launching a new way to help HorsePlay, and we’re so excited about it! 💛🐴

🧂 Salt licks – Help horses stay hydrated and balanced in the heat (and yep, they actually encourage drinking so they don’t colic!)
🟠 Orange cones – Used for walking patterns, games, and visual markers in the arena to help guide sessions with direction and focus
🪰 Big bag fly traps – Because Arkansas bugs are relentless and we’re constantly trying to keep the horses comfortable

This is such a cool illustration…horses and humans are so similar!

Edited to show the third human toe is the equilivant to the horse foot. Also the horse splint bones are thought to be the equivalent of toes 2 and 4 in the human.

What a clever way to illustrate the foot of man and lower leg of the horse.

They have similarities in the bone structure however the biomechanical are quite different.

I love it when I hear folks compare horses feet to human feet and I untangle in my head, what they describe, to see if what they are saying is actually correct. Flipper feet (long toes), stones in shoes (protruding bars) etc.

My journey of biomechanics is in its infancy but it’s a truly amazing topic. I had a great 2 hour conversation with a farrier from the US today, Jeremy V. He explained such a lot to me and helped me understand more about the biomechanics.

When you consider the fetlock on the horse and the cannon bone as one of the directions of force (perpendicular) then there is the pastern line of force at at angle, it’s quite complicated. At stance it’s ok. Start the limb moving then woah……🤯🤯🤯🤯.

Our precious herd had their dental check-ups today—because healthy smiles mean happy, comfortable horses! Floating their teeth keeps them pain-free and ready to do what they do best… help our kiddos thrive.

July 26th marks Logan's birthday—our joyful, spirited little cowboy who filled every moment with energy, laughter, horse hugs, fearless races, and unforgettable dance moves. Though he left this world unexpectedly just days before his 7th birthday, on July 22nd, his light continues to shine through every life he touched.

To honor his memory, we are proud to introduce the Logan’s Light Scholarship—created to provide funding for children in need to participate in hippotherapy sessions with HorsePlay. Each session helps a child grow stronger, more confident, and more joyful through the healing power of horses—just like Logan did.

💛 We’ll share this each year during Logan’s birthday week to remember and celebrate the incredible boy who continues to inspire us all.

Because every child deserves the chance to run, dance, and dream—just like Logan.

Happy Birthday to our Erica Kennemer!! 💛
