I am open today seeing my scheduled clients. The sunshine made it super-duper slick, but hopefully it will melt enough off today and be safer later in the week. A little tip for other small business; lay down old towels or painters fabric drop cloths between parking spaces. It creates traction and a path to your door.

CLOSED AGAIN TODAY, Tuesday, January 27th. :(

Let's face it. Isn't this what we are all dreaming about right now? I know that I am, but then again, this is what I am always dreaming about. Currently my parking lot is a giant ice rink. Later today my husband and I will go check again and try to clear a few parking spots and a safe path to my door. My plan is to work Friday and Saturday.

Stay home if you don't absolutely have to be somewhere.

Peace, love and sunshine,
Leigh Ann

It seems that this guy may be back in town starting tomorrow and through the weekend. Who knows? I think it will be a "wait and see" event as the forecast changes by the hour.

You know the drill. I will make a decision Sunday evening regarding Monday appointments. I will contact you to either reschedule OR to confirm that I am open. Your safety ALWAYS comes first. I live close to Oasis, but if the roads in your area or on the way here are not clear, stay home.

In the meantime, look up recipes for that call for milk and bread. The shelves in town are empty and I have yet to figure out why winter weather causes a huge desire to drink milk and eat bread. 😜 Personally, I am a "big ole pot of chili" on the stove girl.

Be safe. Stay warm. Keep your keister at home if we get bunches of ice.

Peace!
Leigh Ann

I have a new ARDOH approved CE class for bodyworkers, "Rekindke Your Practice", coming soon! This 10 hour course is for the practicing therapist that desires to take a deep dive into all aspects of their practice; business practices, marketing, techniques, working space and discerning their "thing". When we focus on our personal skill and stop trying to offer the current trends, which are constantly changing, we work better, smarter and happier. Your "people" who yearn for your gift will find you, and they will tell others who seek the same.

I am building my 2026 schedule now. Interested? Email me at oasisappts@gmail.com with "Rekindle" as the subject. I am also offering a service to accompany this class. I will travel to your location for a personal audit and help you to create a fresh approach and space that best represents you and your practice.

Peace, love and light,
Leigh Ann

As we move into the new year, reflecting upon the past and preparing for the future as best we can, I am making a few changes. These changes will help me to extend the life of my practice, and focus more on my areas of specialty. I hold certifications in and continue my education in the following areas;

Oncology Massage and bodywork for those living with and recovering from cancer. I am one of two Preferred Providers of this care in the central Arkansas area. Oncology massage delivered appropriately has been shown to aid in easing the "big 5" of cancer care; pain, anxiety, depression, nausea and fatigue. ("Massage Therapy for Symptom Control: Outcome Study at a major Cancer Center", Barrie Cassileth and Andrew Vickers, Memorial Sloan-Kettering, New York City).

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) (CMLDT) for treating and managing lymphedema due to loss of or damage to lymph nodes, and as a condition which often accompanies Lipedema.

Breast Cancer Rehab - A combination of techniques to address axillary webbing syndrome, reduced mobility due to surgical scarring and effects of radiation, and neuropathy.

Gentle Pain Management techniques

Pediatric Massage Therapy (CPMT) for ages 6 - 18 - Sports injury/overuse,
"growing pains", anxiety, ADHD, pediatric MS, and techniques to help ease pain associated with scoliosis.

(Due to recent legislation, massage therapy clinics must be registered and issued a license separate from the LMT license. This is for anyone who owns a practice whether they are a massage therapist themselves or not. It was implemented to track and hold accountable individuals operating massage therapy practices. BOTH licenses must be posted at or near the entrance of a clinic.)

NEW HOURS
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 8:30 - 5:30
Last appt time 4:00
Thursday - No office appts, On-site at UAMS Cancer Center
Friday - No office appts, Alternating teaching continuing education and taking a day off.

NEW CLIENTS - Clients referred from their physician, oncologist, PT or therapist will be accepted. Otherwise, the only other "new" clients I am able to see will be those with outstanding gift certificates.

Whew! That's a lot, my friends! Like the tug that led me to massage school later in life, I am once again honoring the "tug" to the areas of my practice that are singing the loudest, that make me jump out of bed in the morning and greet the day with thanksgiving.

May you feel your "tug" and honor it in the coming year. As the saying goes, you never work a day when you love what you do.

Peace, love and light to you all,
Leigh Ann

I made it! I just completed my last session for 2025 and I am filled with gratitude. It has been a challenging year in many ways and the end of my 15th year in this rewarding profession. Every day I still learn something new. Next year I will be making a long overdue change to my appointment schedule that will allow me time for selfcare, which will allow me to continue working as long as I desire, or win the lottery, whichever comes first. ;)

My work schedule will be;
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday - 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., no more evenings or weekends
Thursday - Onsite at UAMS Rockefeller Cancer Treatment Center
Friday - Alternating between a day off and teaching continuing education

Rates - The plan currently is to stay where I am, but if after auditing 2025 and allowing for increased utilities, insurance and supply costs there may be a slight adjustment. We shall see.

Again, thank you for another WONDERFUL year. It is a privilege to provide bodywork and nurturing touch, and I take it to heart each and every time.

Peace, love and light to you all! See you in 2026!
Leigh Ann

The last quarter of 2025 has been a doozey! I will be closing at 4:00 tomorrow and will reopen on January 5th. I welcome the respite and look forward to much needed down time and time spent wirh family and friends, and lazy evenings around a fire.

A gentle reminder that I am not selling any gift certificates this year due to my limited appointment availability. More about this soon.

Peace, love and light to you always,
Leigh Ann

Another year has almost past and time to plan for 2026. 2025 has been a year of transition for me. We all evolve, grow and change with time. As I can begin to see retirement in the future, 2-3 years, I am making some adjustments to protect my body so I do not "use it up" for things I greatly enjoy like painting, cooking, kayaking, spending time with friends and family, and hopefully cradling a grandchild someday. To this end, here are my plans moving forward;

Office Hours:
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
No more nights and weekends

Thursday - On-site at UAMS Winthrop Rockefeller Cancer Treatment Center, no appointments at Oasis

Alternating Fridays - Day off, and teaching a continuing education classes either at Oasis or on location around the state.

My focus, in addition to providing care to my long term/standing appointment clients, will be using my education and special training in oncology, lymphatic and therapeutic/medical care.

This schedule will hopefully create a balance using all my skills, and let me work as long as I desire. I appreciate your understanding and support.

Peace, love and light,
Leigh Ann

So, I am out of office this week trying to rest and heal an overuse injury of my serratus anterior. As noted on this guy peeping in my window, it is a major part of the support structure of the shoulder. Making the most of time away I also had a bit of oral surgery today. Good times! I will be back next week.

Thank you for understanding!
Leigh Ann

A new Fall Update Newsletter went out this morning. Be looking for it in your inbox as it will address schedule changes starting next week. I will be out of office every Thursday morning providing inpatient care to cancer patients at UAMS in Little Rock. This is my dream and I am filled with gratitude and joy. I will also be creating blocks of time specifically for providing therapeutic touch for those living with and recovering from cancer, lymphedema care and breast cancer rehab therapy in my studio. I have invested a great deal of time, travel and money in building my specialty and now is the time to "lean" into this area on a more regular basis.

I'm doing some creative juggling this weekend to take care of everyone. I know many of you are doing the same as school starts back and hustle returns. Be patient and kind to our students who may be driving to school for the first time, and college students new to our community. Tomorrow is move-in day at UCA. Stay away from Dave Ward and get your shopping done today.

Peace, love and light,
Leigh Ann
