Original Post: The Faulkner County Office of Emergency Management is providing free reflective address markers during the month of September! Reflective address markers help improve public safety by assisting first responders locate homes more quickly and efficiently during an emergency. All residents of Faulkner County, including residents within city limits, who have a valid address registered in the Faulkner County 911 Addressing Database, are eligible to receive a free reflective address marker. There is a limit of one address marker per residence.

The reflective address markers are being ordered in bulk. These markers are metal (same as county road signs), and they are reflective with a blue background and white lettering. There are no other color options or variations available. Only the marker itself will be supplied, and residents are responsible for purchasing hardware and installing the marker at their driveway themselves. Do not attach the marker to your mailbox unless your mailbox is located directly at your driveway.

Due to cost, only a limited number of markers will be ordered. Markers will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis, to those who place an order. Orders will be accepted during the month of September ONLY. No orders will be accepted after the close of business on September 30. Orders will only be accepted when placed in one of the following routes:

1) Email oem@faulknercountyar.gov
For email orders to be valid, they must include all of the following: Name, Phone, Full Address, and Email Address; OR

2) Visit the OEM booth at the Faulkner County Fair

Orders will ONLY be accepted by email or in person at the fair. Orders will not be accepted via telephone under any circumstances.

The Office of Emergency Management will be placing the final bulk order in October. Once that order is placed, it will take approximately 6-8 weeks for delivery. Once the items are received, we will notify citizens via facebook when markers are available for pickup. No markers will be shipped/mailed. All markers must be picked up at the following address:

Conway Regional will remain in network with UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage plans. A verbal agreement has been reached on a new contract that will take effect on October 1, 2025.

As part of this verbal agreement, an extension has been agreed to through October 1, 2025, ensuring uninterrupted care for patients with UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage plans. The verbal agreement reflects new terms, and the extension provides time for those terms to be finalized in contract form.

Negotiations began in January 2025 between Conway Regional, along with more than 280 physicians, and the Conway Regional Physician Hospital Organization, and UnitedHealthcare to establish market equity that supports both access to care and the long-term strength of local healthcare.

📢 Medicare is Testing Pre-Authorization for Common Services – Big Changes Coming!

Starting in 2026, Original Medicare will begin a 6-year pilot program in 6 states (not including Arkansas yet!) that will require pre-authorization for 17 types of services — including common ones like steroid injections for pain and arthroscopic knee surgery. See participating states in the pictures.

👉 Medicare says these treatments are often overused, low value, or even harmful, and could be driving up health care costs by as much as 25%.
👉 AI will be used to flag potential issues, but final decisions will be made by humans.
👉 If providers don’t get services pre-approved, they could face post-service reviews — meaning they might not get paid.

This isn’t affecting Arkansans yet, but we want you to stay informed. Medicare is changing — and more oversight could be coming our way in the future.

🚨 Heads Up, Friends! A New Medicare Bill Could Limit Your Choices 🚨

A proposed law in Washington, D.C. would automatically enroll Medicare-eligible individuals into a Medicare Advantage plan—with no agent, no guidance, and no discussion about whether it's the right fit for YOU. You’d have to actively opt out if you want something else… and once enrolled, you could be locked in for three full years.

💬 Let’s be clear: Medicare Advantage plans can be a great option for many—but only when it’s your informed decision.
The problem here is the lack of personal choice and support.

We're proud to announce the grand opening of the new Conway Community Center on Thursday, July 17, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The event will take place at 250 Central Landing Blvd, marking an exciting milestone for the community.

Conway voters approved the Conway Community Center in a February 2022 special election that will see the city add a 133,000-square-foot facility that features an eight-lane competition pool, a community fitness center, and an outdoor pool area complete with a lazy river, tot pool, and water slides. The center will also feature eight volleyball courts, 12 pickleball courts, community lounge, and party rooms.

Once completed, the center will serve as a premier destination for health and wellness, social gatherings, and competitive sports.
