Screening for lung cancer is crucial to detect lung cancer early. The US Preventative Services Task Force (USPSTF) recommends lung cancer screening for adults aged 50-80 yrs old who meet the following criteria:
-have a history of smoking at least 1PPD for 20 years or 2PPDs for 10 years.
-Currently smoke or have quit within the past 15 years
(**criteria can vary depending on insurance)

A low dose CT (LDCT) is the preferred screening test and uses a low dose of radiation to create a more detailed image of the lungs.

If you meet the criteria and would like a LDCT for lung cancer screening, feel free to call the office to make an appointment.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), COPD is the 4th leading cause of death worldwide. Inhaled bronchodilators have been the mainstay of treatment for decades. Fortunately, new advancements and treatment options are being integrated into our practice. New therapies include an inhaled PDE3/4 inhibitor (which relaxes smooth airway muscle and reduces inflammation), biologic therapies targeting type 2 inflammation, and optimized utilization of triple (ICS/LABA/LAMA) inhalers. We are hiring a FULL TIME RN and a PART TIME/FULL TIME MA. ****MA must be willing to travel to satellite clinic in Russellville twice a week.

CLINIC RN DUTIES include, but are not limited to:
-provide routine, preventative, and chronic care management to patient in outpatient setting
-perform diagnostic tests, blood draws and swabs
-responsible for administering prospective reviews of authorization requests of specialty medications, services, admissions and referrals
-review documents and delegate communication to appropriate staff
-schedule outpatient procedures and imaging
-answer calls, communicate with patient, families, explain their care plans, answering questions, and providing instructions
