We would like to thank Conway Medical Center and Leadership Conway for allowing our Deputy Director, Charles Bell, to tour their facility and learn more about how the hospital operates. Being a part of Leadership Conway has allowed our agency the opportunity to connect with others in the community so that resources are understood and shared with citizens of Horry County.

Our youth are wrapping up their final day at CADCA with inspiration and purpose!

Samantha is working on an action plan to host parent meetings focused on educating families about the dangers of ma*****na use.

Jerry is diving into the fundamentals of FUNraising!

Both students have had an incredible experience at CADCA, gaining valuable knowledge and tools to bring back!

Today, our youth gained valuable knowledge and insights to bring back to our community!

Samantha spent the day learning about logic models and even created one focused on ma*****na consumption in Horry County—great work applying new tools to real-world issues!

Jerry participated in two impactful breakout sessions. The first addressed homelessness, while the second explored leadership—highlighting that true leadership isn’t just about taking charge, but also knowing when to listen.

Shoreline continues an exciting partnership with Grand Strand Family Medicine. For several years, Shoreline and Grand Strand have worked together to develop a comprehensive shadowing opportunity for residents completing their Community Medicine rotation. The opportunity at Shoreline allows for a day of first-hand experience working with the substance use disorder population. The residents participate in observing clinical treatment groups, and learning more about our Medication Assisted Treatment program through observation and consultation with Shoreline's medical providers. This partnership has been a wonderful opportunity for Shoreline to assist in providing educational development for our local community partners.

🎉 CADCA Mid-Year Training in Nashville! 🎉
We’re so proud of our youth leaders, Samantha and Jerry, who are representing our community this week in Nashville!

On Day 1, they dove into powerful sessions—Samantha started the Key Essentials track and Jerry explored the Breakout Rooms, soaking up tools and skills to bring back home.

Last night’s youth meet up was the perfect way to unwind and connect with youth from across the country.

Billing Specialist – Full-time
Duties include all aspects of commercial insurance, managed care organizations (MCO) and Medicaid billing requirements such as monitoring claim status and researching rejections, outstanding claims, and denials to ensure timely reimbursements. Documenting related account activities, posting payments for various insurance companies, discussing insurance coverage with clients, and auditing accounts. Troubleshooting errors and submitting batches to DHHS electronically. Requesting prior authorizations for services from insurance providers and monitoring to insure continued coverage. Verifying client insurance coverage and obtaining necessary authorizations.

QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience in medical and/or behavioral health billing is preferred. Familiarity with HIPAA laws and confidentiality practices. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Strong knowledge of medical collection practices and procedures. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate with insurance companies, providers, and clients. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. This is NOT a remote position. Applicant must be willing to work in-person at our office in Conway, SC.

Meet Matt Parton- Clinical Counselor
Matt resides in Myrtle Beach with his wife of twenty-two years and his twenty-year-old son. Matt obtained a Master of Science degree in child and adolescent developmental psychology from Northcentral University in 2022. He received his bachelor’s degree in social science from Ashford University in 2013. Two unrelated fun facts that Matt shared about his job at Shoreline are that he was previously the Research Coordinator at Shoreline, and he once replaced a lightbulb without supervision. Matt has been employed with Shoreline for two years and is a clinical counselor specializing in adolescent treatment. One thing on Matt’s bucket list is racing the twenty-four hours of Le Mans. He says this will never happen, but a guy can dream! Something you may not know about Matt is that he has a YouTube channel dedicated to quasi-serious paranormal investigations.

Meet Kim Herring- Clerical Assistant
Kim resides in Conway. She has a sister, Tonya, and a nephew that she claims as her own. Kim attended Horry Georgetown Technical College and obtained an associate’s degree in business majoring in Office Systems Technology. Kim has been employed with Shoreline for seventeen years. She currently works in the front office. Her job duties include verifying insurance and Medicaid along with other clerical duties. Kim says she works with the best people at Shoreline. Some of her coworkers have turned out to be her closest friends. One thing on Kim’s bucket list is to go to Paris. Something you may not know about Kim is that she used to be extremely shy when she was in school. Not anymore! She also loves to sing.
