Happy Mother’s Day to my mom, to me, and to all the amazing moms and caregivers in the world. Happy Heavenly Mother’s Day to my grandmother Queen Ann, and my auntie Queen Elizabeth!!! Being a mom is a job that you don’t receive any pay or training for. Although our children think we are the richest people in the world and that we know it all and we have magical powers. However, we don’t. Children we are human beings just like you winging it sometimes, doing our best, taking the bare minimum and making it look like billions. We cry in the shower and we put on a polka face because we don’t want our children to worry. We give what we don’t have because we want our children to never go without. We make sacrifices out of this world because our children are the most important to us. We will do the unthinkable for our children like fighting a lion because we don’t play about our children. Somewhere inside we feel like we have superpowers when it comes to to protecting our children. However, we really don’t. Although motherhood is a job we wouldn’t trade it for the world no matter what. We love our children unconditionally even when they act entitled, even when they act out. We will be there for our children even if no one else is. We will always see the best in children when everyone else sees the worst. Thank you God for making me a Mom, and showing me through my kids how you love me and how much you love me. To my kids I’m not perfect nor will I ever be. However, I love you all unconditionally. You are all the greatest gifts I could ever receive. I’m a proud mom because all of you are good human beings who embody the spirit of God. All of you are unique and special. I’m truly blessed and honored to be your mom. Motherhood is a journey, I’m learning and growing. Being a mom has taught me to love and appreciate my mom more, to let go of unrealistic expectations, and to forgive and extend grace where I need to. I’m sending love and prayers to moms who have children in heaven and to those who moms are in heaven.

Next Saturday pull up and be part of it!!!!!

This week is Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week and Thursday was Children’s Mental Health Day. Children’s Mental Health is so near and dear to us and it’s our why. Therefore, I’m extremely excited that My Girls, Inc. is partnering with the Rockdale County District Attorney's Office for their 3rd Annual Youth Mental Health Expo. Four of my fellow Georgia Chapters; Pins Up, OptimumLinx, Sacred Families and Siblings Supporting Siblings under the Georgia Parent Support Network are also partnering with us for this event along with my friend & community partner People Sync. I’m so grateful for this collaboration because we are better together! Please bring your families and tell a friend. This event is free and open to the public. We will have food, fun, games, wellness activities, giveaways, guest speakers, mental health resources, and more. We’ll see you there!!! 💚

Mental Health is fundamental!

May is a powerful month of awareness, growth, and connection. As flowers bloom and the days grow brighter, we are reminded of the importance of nurturing not only our physical health—but our mental and emotional well-being too. The brain is the engine of our body. It is very powerful and it affects the way we think, feel, and behave. This is why we all have mental health because we all have a brain. Everyone may not live with a mental health diagnosis. However, if you do that still doesn’t mean you are crazy or that is has to be a death sentence. Having a mental health diagnosis is a medical condition just as if you were diagnosed with diabetes, high blood pressure, cancer, asthma and so on. The same way those diagnoses are treatable and you can live with them so is true for mental health diagnoses. Also, the same way we approach individuals with compassion and care with other medical diagnoses we need to do the same for individuals living with mental health diagnoses. This month we celebrate Mental Health Awareness Month by bringing awareness and reducing the stigma. I hope you will celebrate it too by doing the same.

What a great meeting of the minds this evening with some powerhouse women in food heaven!🥰

I was looking for a restaurant to have our meeting, and I found this gem in Covington. We were pleasantly surprised this evening at Musulyn’s International Restaurant as we ate African & Caribbean dishes. We had Jollof Rice, Oxtails, Cauliflower Bites, Love Rolls, Paradise Rolls, Sweet Potato Cornbread, Pepper Soup with fu fu, Sweet Potato Greens, Catfish, Fried Okra, and Collards Greens. The service, food, and ambience was 10/10. We had the most amazing server George. Please go and check this place out. We will definitely be back.

Happy Easter!!!
