Dr. Kimberly Peters brings over a decade of experience as a practicing dentist to our team at Hillcrest Dentistry in Conyers. With her gentle touch and relaxing chairside manner, patients feel right at ease when they visit her. In fact, many of our patients feel so relaxed during their treatments that they fall asleep in the chair! Dr. Peters takes a conservative and non-judgmental approach to dentistry, only recommending services that will truly benefit a patient. Ever since graduating from the Medical College of Georgia (now known as the Augusta University Dental College of Georgia), Dr. Peters has diligently completed continuing education courses through the Hinman Dental Society to hone her clinical skills. Protecting your smile is just as important as protecting the rest of your body during sports. Mouthguards help cushion impact and reduce the risk of chipped or knocked-out teeth. 🦷

From kids to adults, simple habits like wearing a properly fitted mouthguard and staying aware during play can help prevent dental injuries.

Plaque is a soft, sticky film of bacteria that forms on your teeth daily, while tartar is hardened plaque that builds up when it isn’t removed in time 🦷

Once plaque turns into tartar, it can’t be brushed away and needs a professional cleaning to remove it and protect your gums.

Did you know plaque can harden that quickly? Tell us what you’ve heard or experienced in the comments! 😄

Professional cleanings do more than brighten your smile. They remove plaque and tartar that brushing at home can’t always reach.

These visits also help catch early signs of cavities or gum problems before they turn into bigger concerns, helping keep your smile healthy long term.

While St. Patrick’s Day often means festive drinks, sweets, and plenty of celebrating, those sugary treats can stick to your teeth and raise the risk of cavities.

If you’re enjoying the holiday goodies, try sipping water between drinks, choosing tooth-friendly snacks, and rinsing your mouth after sweets to help protect your smile.

Are you celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with a favorite treat or drink? Tell us below! ☘️

Sometimes bad breath isn’t just about what you ate—it can come from bacteria or a dry mouth, too.

Staying hydrated, brushing and flossing daily, and cleaning your tongue can all help reduce odor causing bacteria and keep your mouth feeling fresh. 🦷
