Health screening saves lives...but cost and scheduling challenges can make it difficult to stay on top of your annual screenings.

In May, we're partnering with Scenic Rivers Health Services (Cook location) to offer 2 days fully dedicated to "One Stop" women's health screenings appointments that include:

🌷 Cervical Cancer Screening (recommended for women 21+)
🌷 Breast Cancer Screening (recommended for women 40+)
🌷 Women's Health Kit, with resources to support your everyday wellness

📆 Appointments are limited, so make sure to book yours soon by calling the Scenic Rivers Cook Clinic: (218) 666.5941

No insurance? No problem. In addition to sliding scale fees, we are working with the MN Sage Program to provide women's health screenings for free for those with no insurance. Just mention the Sage Program when you book your appointment.

April is Occupational Therapy Month—and we’re celebrating Amy!

Amy Kemp, OTR/L, has been with us for five years, and during that time has truly become a foundational part of the quality care we’re so proud to offer at Cook Hospital & Care Center.

From supporting hospital and Care Center patients to providing outpatient services, Amy’s expertise and compassion make a real difference in lives across our region.

“I love the work I do as an OT,” Amy shares. “The most rewarding part of my job is any time a patient has a win big or small. I feel lucky to play a part in a person’s recovery towards a more functional and independent life.”

St Louis County just named the public health award winners. We are grateful for the incredible work of each person, and offer a special congratulations to Sally Ludlow, president of WC Heiam Medical Foundation.

For 34 years, Ludlow has spearheaded fundraising efforts of the W.C. Heiam Medical Foundation, which helps Cook Hospital buy new medical equipment. To date, the foundation has donated more than $2 million to the hospital for new equipment, which has truly empowered our incredible team to provide a high level of care to our patients.

April is Occupational Therapy Month! 🧡

Occupational therapy is all about helping people stay independent, safe, and engaged in the activities that give their lives meaning—at every age and stage of life. 💪✨

Our Occupational Therapist, Amy Kemp, OTR/L, works with patients in multiple settings and with a wide variety of diagnoses/conditions, including:

🌟 Orthopedic conditions/injuries
🌟 Lymphedema therapy
🌟 Activities of daily living
🌟 and so much more!

“One thing that I wish people knew about OT is that I don’t help people find jobs!” Amy says. “Occupations refers to anything that occupies a person’s time. We ALL have occupations: gardening, work, school, and taking care of kids are all meaningful occupations. My goal is to help you recover from an injury, illness, or setback, to get you back to your occupations.”

We’re incredibly grateful for Amy’s dedication and the hours she spends 1:1 with patients to help them return to activities that matter most in their daily lives.
