How to Protect Yourself & Others
✔ THE POWER OF THE MMR VACCINE
The best defense--by far--is the MMR (Measles, Mumps, and Rubella) vaccine.
Here is why it is so vital:
🛡️ It is Highly Effective: Two doses of the MMR vaccine are about 97% effective at preventing measles. First dose is given at 12 months of age, the second dose is given at 4-5 years of age.
🛡️ It Protects the Vulnerable: By vaccinating your children, you help protect infants who are too young to be vaccinated and those with weakened immune systems.
🛡️ It Prevents Complications: Measles can lead to serious complications such as pneumonia and brain swelling (encephalitis).
✔ Check Records: Double check your child's immunization records to ensure they've had both doses of the MMR vaccine.
✔ Cover Cough & Sneezes
Use a tissue or your elbow—not your hands
